Saw new Accord's pricing announced today. EX model increased $450 (1.7%) and Touring model went up by $950 (2.8%). Using that as a guide, if the Civic followed similar price increase that would mean:

Current Civic EX starts at $20,390, so a 1.7% increase would make it $20,736.

Current Civic Si is priced at $24,590, so a 2.8% increase would mean $25,278.

Completely different models so it's not a fair apples to apples comparison. We can expect price to go up but not necessrily by that % or amt.

Cheaper cars are usually going to get smaller price increases compared to more expensive cars so I'm gonna guess that the Civic goes up by less in price than that.

Are you sure the refreshed US Accord's price was increased? Just read this about the US price not increasing at all.

http://www.carscoops.com/2015/08/honda-keeps-prices-unchanged-for-2016.html

The refreshed Accord Sedan goes on sale today with a starting price of $22,105, corresponding to the base LX trim equipped with the 185hp 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine and six-speed manual transmission. At the other end of the lineup, the luxurious 2016 Accord Sedan Touring equipped with the 278hp 3.5-liter V6 and a six-speed automatic transmission costs $34,125.

The 2016 Accord Coupe goes on sale on August 26 with a starting price of $23,775 for the LX-S trim with the four-cylinder engine and six-speed manual transmission. The range-topping 2016 Accord Coupe Touring equipped with the V6 and six-speed auto is the most expensive model of the 2016 Accord lineup, retailing for $34,125. All prices exclude a $820 destination charge.

That's good news and hopefully bodes well for the Civic. Hoping he change to a more global platform will not add much for this next generation.

Wouldn't a global platform reduce costs overall which hopefully passes on to the customers (i.e. possibly no price increase)?

Reduced production costs usually means more money in the auto company's pockets, not ours :) Best we can usually hope for is just no price increase.

Going 'sportier' usually means a higher price tag. Remains to be seen but I would not hold my breath on pricing remaining the same.
