Hi Everyone,

Im currently going back and fourth on wether I want to go all year with my firestone tires or should I bite the $1000 bullet and get winter tires. I live in the Greater Toronto Area so we do get a considerable amount of snow.

Right now i'm rocking after market Enkei rims on my car and also have the stock Honda rims stored in my garage. However if I were to get the winter tires would you guys recommend the Micheline XI3, or the General Altimax Artic?

And just for the heck of it I added a poll to see who's rocking winter tires on their car and who's just using their firestones/all seasons for the winter.

Also fyi i'm driving a 2016 Honda Civic Coupe EX-T, 215/50/R17

I think winter tires are stupid...until I bought a set.

They make a night and day difference, and this is for someone living in BC.

If you're in Ontario, honestly, they're a must. They cost a bit, yes, but they last you 5 years and they keep you and others around you safer.

Both tires are highly recommended, so just get the one that's cheaper. I think michelin has a $70 mail-in rebate running until the end of Dec.

I grew up in Tonawanda (between Buffalo and Niagara), and my dad was usually frugal to the point where all-seasons where what he stuck with. Uh - that was a mistake :)

I do use Winters but my Hatchback won't be delivered until late December or early January so I figured it's not worth buying it. I'll wait next year.

Worst case is I can park it and use my Murano which is running Bridgestone Blizzak DM-V2.

OP which wheels are these going on? Your aftermarket or stock wheels?

I've never driven winter tires in the snow, but I've driven nothing but all season tires and they're still a pita to drive in the snow....

As for brand can't go wrong with Michelin

The winter tires will go on the oem rims since I like my Enkeis a lot more.

Not driving my coupe if it snows or ices.

I will drive my Toyota Tacoma 4X4 if there is a threat of bad weather.

I still have winter tires from my previous Civic, which I had installed on my 2016 Touring. For my wife's 2016 LX we found winter Firestone which were virtually new, on Kijiji for $260.00 for all four! Seller said he mispriced them that low but he honoured the price.
