Yeah - It looks like they are higher maintenance regular shocks, and they have had some problems on the Acuras with them as well.
OTOH, it sure would be nice to have less brake dive, flatter cornering and less squat on acceleration without needing to have shocks so stiff that your body gets rattled.
....which makes me think that the Si was never about the best numbers but about the overall package for a sporty daily driver. I'd be happy with great handling aspects like these along with a decent enough power in the Si. Hoping those Acura problems are mostly corrected for the new Si. :)

ah yes, cue the Honda fanboi. I have a 30 yr old Honda, and I don't expect my GTI to last as long. Hey, have a good time keeping your worn out turbo, obsolete infotainment system having Honda on the road longer than my GTI, which I will get rid of long before it ever gives me trouble. You can pat yourself on the back for keeping your junker longer than anyone else. Some cars are keepers, some are door knobs. Your new Honda will be worn out and obsolete just as quick as any other non-Honda you wish to bash. Honda-they don't make 'em like they used to.
I'm gonna say that a VW infotainment system isn't exactly better than the Hondas too. Although I do like the Fender audio system they put in the recent models.

Premium fuel all around!! haha. Believe or not the premium has actually helped me recently because there's been two fuel shortages in my state and the regular gets gone but finding premium hasn't been a problem. Luckily the price isn't too bad right now either.

The MIB2 is more reliable in day-to-day operation than the CivicX Android-based unit. Also, has real knobs.

But, my point was (although not well stated) is that ALL of these cars nowadays are so dependent on fleeting tech...who the hell is gonna keep a car long enough to brag about how long it lasted? Can you imagine if Honda had Commodore or ATARI based systems with the green CRT monitors in their 1980's products how ridiculous that would look now? Or, go look at a 10 year old luxury car with navigation, ew... Same will be for the MIB2 in my GTI and the Android in your CivicX. And the driver assist stuff too.

But, back on topic...the Si is the automotive equivalent of bring a knife to a gun fight. Yes, the knife may be sharp and pretty, but everyone else is bring real firepower.

I can't wait for the Hyundai N division now!!

I'm pricing a fiesta ST and a Focus ST right now. After that I'll spec out a GTI and a Golf R.

Thanks for helping me decide Honduh!

Oh, in Canada the car will make perfect sense considering a GTI is $34k for the Autobahn (base) 5 door and 38 for the Performance. Focus ST is also $33.5k base so considering the Si comes loaded in Canada, last model was 26.8 and I see this one at 31/32, the value is still there. Your only issue is the 1.5T not having a ton of overhead in terms of mods and tunes and Honda is clearly preventing that to avoid undercutting the Type R.

A part of me could actually get over the 1.5T; but the fact that it's also a coupe/sedan only. The competition not only has hot hatches but more powerful engines...the Si has become a moot point for me now.

I can hope for the CTR; but I'm not willing to pay dealer markups.

My CTR was stolen last night, and I haven't even ordered it yet.

I was hoping for an Si that could replace my GTI, and that I could realize similar potential. On my journey through cars 2.0T SI was next on my list. Now I am considering a Golf R as the next purchase.
If you're going for the Golf R, just get the Civic Type R. It will be more reliable.
