hey guys. I plug in my 2017 hatch into tirerack, and it shows 16x6.5 wheels w/ offset 38mm as working on my car. (Rial Milano is the wheel)

Is that correct? The stock 16s are 16x7 +45mm offset. If I go narrower to 6.5, shouldn't the offset increase to compensate for narrower wheel? Or no?
It should be correct. Take a look at this - http://www.1010tires.com/Tools/Wheel-Offset-Calculator#

Essentially because your wheel is now narrower, you want it to be pushed outwards a bit from the hub so that it maintains it stock stance.

Just picked out my tires from Costco.ca yesterday after looking through this thread. I went for the WS80's and alloy wheels imaged herein for my 2016 Civic Touring in Black. Just under 1600$ for the whole set all in. First time buying winter tires, for my first time new car. Thanks to these forums for making it much easier. Wish it wasn't this expensive, but I like the car and how it looks, so wanted to keep that up even with the winter tires on. Thanks again, I'll be back with pictures of the tires on the car.

The guy at the tire shop had the set laying around since someone traded them in for nicer summer wheels. He gave them to me for $100 each rim, which was a steal. Then I just bought the tires from the shop and got them to install and balance everything.

Now when I go to sell my car in 5-6 years I have a pair of OEMs I can give with the car and take my summer wheel set to my next future car. :)

Evergreen is a lower quality Chinese tire so you may not get more than 2 winter seasons out of your tires. I have evergreens on my summer wheels (wasn't my choice since I bought my set second hand) and they're loud on the highway (almost as loud as my winter tires) and don't handle the greatest in wet conditions, but it may just be the kind of tire that was given. This may not be the case with these winter tires, but from what I've read doing a quick google search, it's hit and miss really. Some like them, some don't.

If you are trying to keep costs down I'd say go ahead and take them, as that would be hard to pass up. The way I see it is that a brand new shitty winter tire is better than some of the best all seasons in winter weather. Worst case scenario, in a few years you get a new set and you already have your steelies.

Just remember to account for hardware (nuts, centering rings if applicable, etc) and cost to install them.

Another option would be to go for these guys in 205/55R16 and get some steelies for $50-$60/wheel (this is brand new I'm talking) and then get them balanced and installed.

went with 15" blizzaks...if you pick up and install the wheels yourself, i think it was $40 or $50 off, plus paying by cash it was another $10 or $20 off. dont remember the exact amount they took off

Sorry if the question has already been answered but im wondering if 195-65R-15 will fit on a 2016 civic? My dealer says no. True? Not reccomended? Too small?

Think about it. on the 9th gen Civics you could use the 195/65/15 or the 205/55/16 or the 215/45/17. For the new models, Honda is putting out 215/55/16 or 215/50/17. So considering OEM size on 16 inch wheels have increased over the previous model do you think you can use the old 195/65/15 combo? Probably not. Use a 205/60/15
