I've been contacting a handful of Honda dealers in Socal, around LA and OC county, and doesn't seem like any of them have any in stock. Anyone have any luck that also lives in socal?

Same. I've called my local dealerships and so far, nothing. They all seem to think it'll arrive this week though, so check back with 'em soon.

Last night, I went to a dealership in Los Angeles, CA to test drive a Blue Civic Hatchback EX. After the test drive, we sit down and discuss the price. Eventually, they start the bidding process at 31,818 OTD!!!!

Here are the add-ons that i can recall:

+$1,200 for protection package that includes scratch guards, nitro in tires, trunk tray, wheel locks, mud guard, and something else i might have forgot.

+$2,995 for a "dealer markup." This caught me by surprise. This seems like a new car premium tax. Granted the car is only a month old, it was one of two Hatchies in the entire dealership. Have you guys encountered this "markup?"

+$795 for Alarm System (optional).

After awhile, I told him that we were too far from a middle ground. The most i wanted to go was around 25k OTD, was i being unreasonable? Being that I'm in SoCal, I might need to shell out more than what I've been reading on this forum (sometimes i hate this State). He might have been able to drop to 27K OTD but it was still too high so i didn't really entertain the offer.

So am i being unreasonable for 25K OTD?

I've been inquiring around San Diego and almost all of the dealers have them although some have as few as three hatchbacks to as many as a dozen. I believe they're clearing out this year's models first to make room for the '17s. Hopefully drive off with mine before the end of the month.

The availability is quite limited. So far I have only spotted 1 on the road.

I've not seen one yet on the road. But my friend from church just bought the sport after seeing how great mine looks. Dang, now there's gonna be a better looking hatchback on the lot than mine. What have I done? Time to visit the aftermarket :)
