OK, it's just getting silly now.

I think if Honda were to use the 1.5T, we'd have already seen the car by now. I think it is taking so long because Honda developed the 2.0NA and 1.5T first, are in this process of refining the CTR 2.0T, and also in the process of detuning and decontenting the CTR 2.0T for Si duty. Which is probably also to line up with the Accord and possibly Acura(s) getting the same/similar 2.0T. No other Honda model will get the exact same 2.0T as the CTR, but I think every other 2.0T Honda/Acura will be sharing the upcoming "detuned" CTR motor, and that is why the long wait for Si.
Everyone keeps going with de-tuned 2.0T from the Type R or up-tuned 1.5 from the others, but I still think it's possible to have a different displacement than either of these - meaning a bored/stroked 1.5T or a destroked 2.0T that makes it a 1.8T or so.
I personally think it would be great if the Si started with the 1.5T block because then the transmission would be able to interface more easily. So, a stroked 1.5T that makes it a 1.8 or 1.9T maybe, then we can source spare transmissions as needed.
Whatever happens we will know soon, but I'm really starting to wonder if we'll see some form of one of the turbo engines seriously reconfigured for the Si to have a different displacement than we know it now.

Honda uses Diakin clutches in most of their manual transmission platforms. They tend to favor engagement over longevity.

Or a car that had over 250k miles on it and was driven 3-4 hours a day. I think failure due to driver error would have manifested sooner than now.
Agreed. I've got 169k+ on my 09 Si and still on the stock clutch. No problems with slippage. I don't launch the car but I do AutoX when I can, and of course I enjoy the occasional on/off ramp.

I wonder who made the clutch for my '91 integra? 483 000 km and still on my original clutch.

Clutch life is really user based. When I was the age most of you are, I would get 20,000 miles on a clutch. Now I get over 120,000. Do I drive differently? Yes.

That's awesome! I wouldn't be surprised if it was Exedy. They seem to make OEM clutches.

Back to the question at hand, Hondapro Jason said he will live stream the Si event at the La auto show later this month.
