I'd like to see the rear view also. The prototypes are sporting 3 outlet exhaust. I just found this about the new NSX (hope the link works):http://image.automobilemag.com/f/15...e-sound-control-and-active-exhaust-valves.jpg

We can see how Honda has employed a muffler bypass on the NSX, and I am betting that the CTR gets the same muffler bypass, hence the middle exhaust tip which doesn't have a muffler....

I'm just excited that the rear suspension looks like they ditched the frigging torsion bar from the ninth gen. I would love to see independent rear suspension on the tenth gen hatch.

Yea, happens with halo type cars all the time.
Really?? When did Honda ever do this?? I can't even find any info about people putting deposits on the upcoming NSX. I don't think Honda works that way...

As far as I know a dealer can take a deposit on anything, has nothing to do with whether Honda endorses or allows it. It's a piece of paper that says they will reserve the car if/when they receive an allocation and that's why it's almost always refundable.

It'd have to be a very loose agreement, which is why I doubt any legit Honda dealer would do such a thing. No one knows delivery details, regional details, allocations. Just a damn waste of time at this point. You don't even know if every dealer will get to sell CTR

Yep, exactly. And it doesn't have anything to do with legitimacy of a dealer. All the dealer is saying is sure we'll start a list for this car that we know has been announced to be coming, and we'll take a refundable deposit from you to reserve your place on this list. As long as they honor your spot when the car's ordering and arrival details are announced, then it's legitimate.

There's no ordering form or official document, but a dealer can just give you a receipt saying it's reserving your spot in line for the upcoming model. And as long as the deposit is refundable, then no risk to the buyer.

They're not going to change the body design at this point since the standard hatchback is going to be revealed in March probably. And the photoshop was based directly on a clear image of the prototype so this should be very close to what the CivicX 2017 Type R will look like. I do miss the wedge shape of the current hatch but this is will be a nice looking car too.
Really?...Look again at my comment AND photos attached... I know the photoshop was taken directly from the spy shots.

couple of things here ...
- most clearly the Type R platform of choice - current euro hatch based Type R is aero drag challenged - cannot stay with the Citroen Elysse in WTCC competition - race engineers publicly owned up to this fact, cannot control speed sapping turbulent air flow out rear - Honda must win a WTCC championship next soon, that's their business -

- its a world market platform so N.A model now partakes - will go head to head with Subaru STI (Possibly awd and fwd options) - Golf R, Peugeot 400hp 308 and Focus RS - all of these 5 dr type hatches

- Soichiro Game On !!

I'd love to see this in Fiji Blue Pearl. IMO it's Honda's best color. :D

My first post as I've never owned a Civic but I had to join as I'm really thinking of getting a new Type R. I have owned a '94 GSR, '94 NSX, and now have '12 Fit as well as a few other Hondas.

I know this is old (it deserves a bump), but any way anyone can render/photoshop a version with the lower trim piece in black, like you did for the Christmas card? It is visually really chunky in all body color and I imagine the bottom trim will be black like on the current Type R. I would think that is more realistic. Also, get rid of the Buick-esque cutouts on the fender. Those are missing in the latest prototype videos. Other than that I agree that you guys nailed it.

First post and I'm already criticizing and asking for stuff... :)
