I loved the 08 Mugen Si

I just would never pay that much to drive a civic ;)

So I waited until I could afford one and got a 2011 Si sedan and loved it so much until the accident :(

I miss that car :coffee:

Yess! They're so rare too! The type R would be a good replacement for this car IMO.
Well, if the Hatch Sport looks like this, the Si will be just fine.
Honda Civic 10th gen OK, it's just getting silly now. IMG_3345.JPG

Just to give you an idea, a guy just totaled his with 104,000 miles on it and the insurance sent him a ck for 11,500. Everyone was so stuck on the price of 30k that people didn't think of the end game value on them. Not to mention people pay a lot more then 30k for exclusivity whether or not they think it's worth it ;) There may be only 400 left, of those 400 how many actually are clean cars? clean car fax cars? not many...

For sure, I agree 100%!!!

Just for me back in 2008, I wasn't making enough money to afford the Mugen. I had to settle for the lesser payment that the 2008 Civic EX coupe offered me. Then when things got better I upgraded to the 2011 Si sedan.

Now I'm at the point where I could afford the new CTR no problem....it's gonna be what the official details of the genX Si brings us. Then I'll be able to make a better choice. It's the WAIT that's killing us Honda!!!! Just sayin....any freakin day would be great :coffee:

A guy I work with is on his 3rd leased GTI since I have been here...he hasn't had any issues I'm aware of. These days, I think I would at least be good with leasing one.
thats probably because all of his GTI's were on leases lol most of those cars tend to have problems just after the lease or warranty is up.

A friend of mine was all in for the new Si but the clutch on his '07 gave out so he couldn't wait for it to come out any longer. He now drives a Ford Focus ST. Honda's loss.

I don't know about that. I have had my fair share of issues with my Honda vehicles, and this isn't 1990 anymore...I wouldn't be scared of owning a GTI at this point.

Agreed... way beyond silly at this point.
It's been over a year since the new civic was released & we know more about the type R than the Si. Potential buyers are giving up& moving on.... Better be worth this long ass wait but I'm not holding my breath. I can only guess it was delayed for some reason.

I'm optimistic. The fact that Honda is delaying both the Si and the Type R strongly indicates that the Si will be more like R than the Sport. I'm not sure what this really means, but this increases the likelihood that the Si will have a 2.0 turbo with 6 speed manual, and perhaps some of the other bells and whistles planned for the CTR.

I'm okay with the wait. Like you said it just means its going to be a better sport car overall. November 15th we'll find out!

What's a clutch cost, $600? I'd definitely pay $600 to not drive a Ford.

I'm hoping that the new Si gets the limited slip differential off of the CTR. Assuming that the Si has >200 hp, torque steer is going to be a problem without it.

I think if Honda were to use the 1.5T, we'd have already seen the car by now. I think it is taking so long because Honda developed the 2.0NA and 1.5T first, are in this process of refining the CTR 2.0T, and also in the process of detuning and decontenting the CTR 2.0T for Si duty. Which is probably also to line up with the Accord and possibly Acura(s) getting the same/similar 2.0T. No other Honda model will get the exact same 2.0T as the CTR, but I think every other 2.0T Honda/Acura will be sharing the upcoming "detuned" CTR motor, and that is why the long wait for Si.
