Woke up on Sunday morning to find a parking ticket on my front windshield. The ticket stated I did not have plates attached to the car. I just bought the car a little over a month and I still haven't received the plates from the DMV. I do have the temporary permit displayed from the car dealer which is valid for 90-days. Any one run in to this problem?

Wouldn't these problems easily be resolved in court?

forgot to mention i did call and ask my dealer. he said as long as you have the windows sticker youre fine. so i guess take the sticker with you to your court date? on that note, is it a violation or just a fix it ticket? maybe stop and ask a police officer and show him the car.

Sounds like the cop was a rookie or a dick. 50/50.

I called the DMV and they said they issued the plates on Sept. 14th but since I still don't have them, they said to wait after the 30-day waiting period to request new plates. Made the appointment to go in next Wednesday just in case I don't get them by friday. Might have been lost in the mail or something.

The ticket was a parking ticket from parking enforcement from my city not a CHP or police officer so there is no option on the ticket to go to court or even contest the ticket.

Yeah I ended up looking online at all the regulations and california vehicle code for the parking violation and I found something that will hopefully get this dissmissed without me having to take my car in and waste my time. I don't want to take it in either since I already put some tint on my car and worst thing would be having to take that off.

Damn that sucks. That would never happen in my neck of the woods.

Maybe go see the prosecutor's office in the misdemeanor/traffic section and see if you can get it reduced. I got an expired brake tag reduced down to a seatbelt violation that way, and didn't even have to go to court. That is what my lawyer friends do when someone pays them to "fix" a ticket.
