Very nice mathew62
here are mine
Went this morning to my local Muffler shop...
-They cut the angle off the muffler, did a 45 degres pipe, took all the right mesurements...
-welded the pipe on the muffler, then i choose a chrome pipe simple a clean, not too big 3" out..
-Took about 1h15 ...and cost me 100 bucks!
Everything is nice and tight..and i find its looks clean
Here are some pics..
nice! looks good man. its still such a shame that they hide the dual exhaust. and shape them so weird that it makes it hard to put tips onVery nice mathew62

I did the same thing with mine. They look strange when installed the way they were meant to be. I also feel like there is no way to really lose one if the bolts were to come loose since it sits on there pretty well. The bolts are totally hidden as well. What do you think of these? These r the ones with the holes BUT I installed them upside down they fit much better and look much better this way too. The lower lip of the tip is a little longer than the top which makes it look even better this way. If installed the other way around they were just looking too odd and had a too much downward curve
Wish I had done that to mine, probably wouldn't have fallen off... I may try to contact the seller on Amazon and see if I can buy just one...I did the same thing with mine. IMO, that's a good thing. Don't want people curb stomping your whistle tips!hmm, not sure how I feel about those lol, they are pretty far back...
Wouldn't plastidip melt off the exhaust tip due to HEAT? I used High Temperature Header/engine paint in flat black to cover all the "steel/aluminum pieces on the rear of the car.Since my Touring is a sedan, I have no choice but to just use an exhaust tip on each side rather than making it a dual center tip, which would look weird imo. Anyway, the big question is, do I just buy any kind of tip that I'd like, place it upside down opposite to how the oem muffler is shaped, drill holes and bolt them together?
I plan to plastidip the exhaust tip matte black also, what do you think? And for the people that have done this, are there any changes in sound (no matter how small)? Thank you.
I may be mistaken on this but I thought plastidips get stronger with heat? How much are engine paints?Wouldn't plastidip melt off the exhaust tip due to HEAT? I used High Temperature Header/engine paint in flat black to cover all the "steel/aluminum pieces on the rear of the car.
I just commented on one of your youtube videos. I wanted to do this same exact thing but only sink them into the diffuser. How much did this end up costing you?going to get my exhaust done later this week. muffler delete and replacing the resonator. strait piping it back from that point. the guy had some tips that he held up in the center and we may do that. opinions? i think it would look good but don't know if i want them in the center of off to the sides. I'm very OCD about symmetry. doesn't looked centered because he is holding them a little off. But either way I'm just excited to finally get it done
Engine paint is very cheap $10 to $15 a can. I used one can on 7 cars now and I still have a bit under half a can left.I may be mistaken on this but I thought plastidips get stronger with heat? How much are engine paints?
