I know that the 15400-PLM-A02 are not very well regarded and that the 15400-PLM-A01 were regarded as having a higher build quality.

Since the A01 are now almost impossible to find has anyone tried using the one made for the S2000? The part number is 15400-PCX-004 and it is made by Toyo Roki.

I know there is some discussion on filters such as the Fram Ultra Synthetic XG7317 and other similar filters not having the flow of these OEM parts.

I am wondering this as I will soon be getting a 2021 Hatchback Sport and am looking to treat it to high quality oil and filters.

Looking forward to your insights.

Isn’t the S2000 filter a different size? I thought the F20/22 had a different filter than all other Hondas. I use Mobil 1 but OCI probably matters more than anything.

Yes the s2000 used a different one. I used to use them back in the day on my built b series. No clue if it made a difference. Honda also has “special” oil for the s2000 too.

I personally use a Honda oil filter. Cheap and I change my oil every 3k so I don’t let them get too dirty.

Amsoil all day. Or royal purple as they are the same filter.

They have more evenly spaced pleats vs. Wix Xp and Fram Ultra Synthetic, and they've been changed to the new Champion ecore for better flow and contaminant loading of the media.

Still rated 99% at 20 microns, though.

I'm running my first of the new version with ecore to see if it holds up to hard driving.

A01 OEM filters are pretty hard to get now a days. A02 is a downgrade. I’ve been using Mobil 1 EP and it works great. Get it pretty cheap too as part of Mobil 1’s rebates. My oil changes usually cost me around $12-15 for Mobil 1 EP oil and filter. I’m not trying to be cheap, but Mobil is a great product at a great price if done right too.

Worrying about filters is like rocking in a rocking chair. Gives ya something to do, but doesn't get you anywhere.

Supertech 6607 all the way. Under 3 bucks and they fit both the Odyssey and the Civic. I like to save money on filters to support my habit of big macs and zebra cakes. lolz

.... Fram makes Fram.
Yes, I understand that Fram makes Fram, but the actual filter element they use could be supplied by Honeywell.. that's what I'm asking. I guess I'd have to talk to a Fram insider employee to find that information.
