Hey, all! Looking to trade/swap OEM halogen projectors for OEM LED headlights. Currently, my OEM halogen projectors are sitting nicely in a box (using a different pair of headlights for the moment). I didn’t immediately upload any pics because I’m sure we all know what they look like, but I’m happy to take & upload pics upon request.

My halogens are in great condition, no major issues with either the housing or the lenses, and they currently have LED bulbs in them. Seems like many folks like to do the HID retrofit, so, willing to outright trade for OEM LEDs.

LMK if anyone is interested. My headlights are in a box, well-protected by styrofoam. Willing to meet up if anyone is near the Central Valley in CA, or I’m open to shipping them out, then receiving the LEDs, from a reputable member.

Honestly OP, your ask is... optimistic to say the least. You would be lucky to get 200 bucks for your headlights.

A used set of touring headlights 400-500 bucks.

So, this post is inspired by another in which people are buying the LED to Halogen conversion (not the other way around), suggesting these folks are also sourcing the halogens from somewhere, and thus also doing something with their OEM LEDs. Thus, perhaps someone would want to straight swap, no cash involved.

Well, I suppose someone might want to give him a couple hundred bucks. If OP finds him, lmk. I could also use a couple hundred extra bucks.

Hey @Doc_Mello send your OEM halogen headlamps to a retrofitter and have superior headlights!! Forget that OEM LED nonsense.
Stop telling me what to do! 😄 JK JK.

I want the LEDs because they actually look good, which is the polar opposite of the disgusting halogen nonsense. Honestly, my OEM halogens with LED bulbs are wonderful, and far less intensive as an upgrade than some invasive retrofit procedure. I can see why some folks apt for that surgery, but the cost/benefit domestic work out, IMHO.

I remember a couple months after buying mine I parked next to a 17-19 si a realized that they put different headlights in the 20my for the US. I do feel the led look more aggressive, an have zero complaints on output. Would like to find a backup pair to store as a just in case lol

Felt exactly like you back in 2017 when I was riding around in my 2017 Civic Si., the halogens were yellowish and crappy output. I just want to mention an alternative because I've had 4 varieties of headlights since.

Halogen:
I had installed some hids at the time

I swapped LED - Morimoto (you should consider these)

Alternative:
Retrofitted Halogen to D2s Morimoto
These are 3 inches they now come in 2.5 like stock so no cutting involved.

Conclusion:

Ive had Halogen/Led/Morimoto

I'm in a Type R and my converted halogens are my favorite.

Thanks, mate! I’ve actually read over that DIY a couple times. It’s fantastic! I’m not eager to open up the headlights, more looking for a direct swap. I’ve been considering the Morimoto LEDs. Expensive, but seem legit.

Morimoto XB headlamps are almost $1k!! For that price, you can have your headlamps sent to a professional retrofitter and still come out on top! With some nice D2S projectors and have budget left for the best Osram or Philips bulbs on the market.

And then sell those ZHEJIANG HONGGUAN YUANZHENG LED headlamps...

...except, again:

Swag:

Hideous:

Ocularly offensive:

🤣🤣🤣

...and what do you have against Chinese-made headlamps? All of our headlamps are made in China, bruh. 😄 I get people have a preference for the projector cutoff, but it is possible to have great light output from good-looking headlamps. Function + style = 😎. So, if anyone know's someone who wants to trade their OEM LEDs for some OEM projectors, LMK!
