Changed center caps up a bit. Also the plastic rim protector trim didn't stay on, so I'm just going to pin stripe the wheels tommorow.

I've been wanting these! Finding replicas, no one wants to sell me a real set in the Toronto area :(

I hated the x-ice tires. In my area the roads are coated in salt so ice driving conditions are rare. Snow conditions are common though.. deep treaded tires are better for that.

(long time no see)

Kinda at a crossroads...

On one hand, I'm thinking of switching from my 16" steel wheels to some nicer-looking 16x7 alloys. Tossing around the idea of getting some other Honda/Acura wheels to make everything easier, too. The base Insight has 16s now, which would be fine, but I can look for whatever else, too. Anyway, that's just thinking to myself.

On the other hand, I'm starting to wonder just how much I'll need winter wheels anymore for my hatch. I don't remember if we had any snow last year, and my wife's CR-V should automatically be our preferred snow vehicle anyway. Plus, I can telework (for now) if the weather really craps out, and my wife will likely be working at a hospital or clinic soon if all goes well, so she has a greater need for reliable transportation. The money would be better spent on a set of winters for her.

Meh. Anyway, I'll probably swap them onto my car as usual over this weekend as it's getting cold enough.

I think everyone is sleeping on the Falken Eurowinters.

Note: For the tire size where I am, the tires are cheaper than the Michelin, Toyo, Goodyear and BFgoodrich.

I now have my summer set up as my winter set up. But now a little wider tire. 18x8.5 +40 Super Speed RF06RR with Falken Eurowinters 245/40.

So far I cannot speak highly enough about the tire. One snow storm and one morning after freezing rain.

Felt solid and the grip was fantastic.

Honda Civic 10th gen Winter Wheels / Tires - Everything you want to know 2019 Type R Wheel Covers Photo1

Winter wheel setup
Rims: Aluminum, 6-Spoke (less weight, compared to steel rims and won't rust)
Tires: 245/40R18 Bridgestone Blizzak WS90 XL 97H
Wheel Covers: Aluminum, Laser cut
Drilled and tapped threads into aluminum spokes and used 1/4" hex head screws to attach aluminum wheel cover to rim.

CRV 15" alloys and 205/70R15 Geolanders on my son's 19 Sport 6MT. They were free and gained a little more ride height :)
