winter tires Downsizing -Civic 2017 touring

Hi there, Just got my 2017 Civic touring last months and plan to install winters. OEM is 215/50/R17.
can I downsize to a 15" or 16"? what tires size?
for rims, Do i need to keep the lug pattern the same and thats it or are there other considerations?
I am planning to place rims order today or tomorrow

I had the stock 215/55/16 on my LX and my winters are 205/60/16. You want your winters to be a bit narrower as it will work better in the snow.

The stock 16" steel wheel have the same bolt pattern ( 5x114.3 ) as all the other models except the type R, is 7 inches wide and have a offset of 45.

You need to keep the lug pattern the same 5 x 114.3, same with the bore - don't know off hand what it is, but somebody has posted it in one of these threads, so that the wheels you get are hubcentric. 15" or 16" will work. I have the same size tires as chokesmaster does for my winters. Luckily when I traded in my TSX for the Civic, the winter tires and steel wheels I had with the TSX are a perfect match for the Civic - no need to buy new winter tires or rims.

It should work but your car will sit lower than stock
