windshield washer not working?

I hear the noise from the pump, but today it just wont squirt. Not sure how to check fluid levels. Ive had the car 12k miles now from brand almost a year.
Edit: no light came on so wondering what it could be

I'm sure you must have run out of fluid if you haven't checked it in a year.

I don’t use it much I’m worried because I held it down prolly pumping air. Also the light never came on

There’s no sensor for low fluid you just fill it till you see it in the reservoir
