Last of the production of the fk8 is a few months away.So it had me thinking what year will be the most sought after.Im also thinking white being the classic color and boost blue being extremely hot will be the cars with the most value in the end. Especially if the 11th generation is a bust or not as sought after.

The 11th gen won’t be a bust. It’ll just attract the crowd that thought the 10th gen was overstyled. Which is a lot of people.

Generally speaking, the last year of any generation/model seems to be the most desirable. I did pretty good with my Z06 - last year of the last generation of front engine Corvettes along with a manual transmission. So far it has retained its value exceptionally well. I hope that will be the case with my R too. Hell even my Fiesta has shot up in value just in the past year. Last year I was offered 12k for it. Yesterday I did a new Carvana quote just for the hell of it - 16k!

If any CTR would be valuable it would be the 2017's they were the first model year I would think. The flagship Championship white is THE CTR color of choice valuable for collector's sakes. The boost blue was a 2020 year cash grab for those wanting something new and unique. Boost blue in my eyes was an excuse for dealers to charge people insane Mark up and make a profit. As you can see dealers are letting boost blue go for MSRP with no pushback. you are also seeing more of them for 2021 than in 2020...that tells you something.

shoot TBH Aegean Blue would be more value able since it's a discontinued color.

boosted blue being extremely "hot" is just your personal opinion.
I think its an awesome color but its not for everyone.

we also still have YEARS to go before this car becomes a collectible.

will 2017 become the most sought after because they only made it for like 4 months?
will 2019 become the most sought after because its the last year pre honda sensing?
will 2021 become the most sought after because its the last year of the fk8?

It's impossible to tell right now because we have little information about how the 11th gen will compare- what if it's a bit faster from factory but feels dead? The E90/E92 M3s are on paper better than an E46, but the E46 is the revered one for enthusiasts.

CW is probably way too common to be a collector's color regardless of heritage.

I disagree first year issues and transmission problems are well documented

what first year issues?

you mean the issue that honda tried to fix with a new radiator and a grille that still doesn't work?
you mean the 2nd gear grind/4th gear lock out problem which still plagues cars to this day?

lets be real, honda didnt fix anything.

Boost Blue is actually the most produced color of the 2020 and 2021 model year CTR. Rallye Red, by contrast, has only been about 10-20% of all colors shipped since the 2020 model year. Right now, there are 342 Type Rs for sale in the US. Only 17 of those are Rallye Red, compared to 94 BB.

What I'm getting at is I don't think BB will be that much more rare than a color like Rallye Red, AGB or even PMM. White will be by far the most color produced. Just my opinion anyway

This 2017 CW CTR sold for $500 less than MSRP despite being 4 years old with 11k miles. The lack of depreciation on this car is crazy, I can only imagine what a one-owner, low miles, well maintained 10th gen CTR will go for in 10, 15 or 20 years from now.

I know I'll definitely want to get into the 11th gen CTR, but it would be really hard to get rid of my 2019 knowing the future value of the car if I store it and keep it well maintained
