Will not read text message

I have my android phone connected via bluetooth. It used to pop up with a message on the display and when I hit read, it would read it out loud.

For some reason it stopped. It either gives me an error saying that is not an option after I press the button, or I don't even get a pop up.

I have tried rebooting both the phone and display, no joy. Any ideas?

I had similar issue, i unpaired the phone both in the setting - bluetooth - devices menu in the car and also on the phone.
I then re-paired the phone too the car and added handsfreelink as a trusted source on my phone and it seems to work fine now.
