Currently running 255/40/18 on a 18x9.5 +35 wheel stock height. I know I can get away with lowering on eibach pro kit, but if I want to run a 265/35 tire, will I run into trouble if I lower?

Surprise you don’t rub with your current setup, had problems with rubbing running same tire size on a 18x8.5 +35 wheel whenever there is a deep road undulation. Swapping to a 18x9.5 +45 running same tire fixed the issue.
265/35 seems to be the common choice, and should have a shorter tirewall than 255/40 so probably won’t rub, at least thats my guess.

Thanks for the reply. I was in the middle of deleting it thinking I could get more answers in the wheel and tire section. I’m not rubbing because I’m on stock height currently. I haven’t read any posts that I recall with anyone running a 265 /35/18 with a 35 offset. Usually I see 45

Was also on stock height, makes it even more surprising... but yeah thats true most run 38-45 offset, can’t help you there I’m afraid...

Alot of people run 18x9.5 +35, or +38. +45 is easier to run (no camber arms req'd) which is why most people choose that offset

Yokohama Advan Apex 265/35/18
Eibach Sportline Springs
SPC Rear Camber Arms (-1.5F/-2.5R)
Front fender tab is folded in
NO RUBBING
NO REAR FENDER TRIMMING REQ'D

You mention camber arms in the rear, what did you to front? Just remove the guide pin in the shock tower for added camber? I was looking at the eibach pro kit. Its suppose to be less aggressive of a drop right? Can I get away with those or do I need the sportline?

its typically the 255/40/18 you run into problems with when lowering, thats why the 265/35 if super popular for lowered R's. I've talked to many about their experiences on the 255/40's which is what I have and all have fender modifications or camber arms sometimes both. Also pulled pin on the front strut mounts for additional camber there.

If someone has a 255'40 setup that works WITHOUT fenders mods lemme know!

Maybe I could possibly get away with pulled front pins, rear camber arms with something like spoon springs at .8" drop..

Yes alignment pins removed and shock towers pushed in as much as I could

Pro Kit is less aggressive than the sportlines, the drop difference is only like 0.2" and i believe the pro-kit the springs ride softer, so it depends if you want that lower ride height and a slightly stiffer ride
