You'll be good on stock suspension and wont have to modify anything. I run 17x9 +40 on 255/40/17 Federal SS 595 (which are known for running bigger than "said" size)
I am also lowered on d2 springs which give the most drop and i have no issues. Keep in mind i have done the tab mod for more fender room and guide pin removal for more camber on the front fenders.
Rear fenders needed no work.

Brilliant! Thank You so much, I have been looking for pictures of this setup for a long time! There's a local fella who's on the forum as well running 17x9 Black RPF1 with 255, but he's not lowered. I'm on H&R Sport Springs

Agreed, its very rare you see 17's on our generation. Mainly because i was scared the wheel wells were too big. haha so funny because thats the thread i used to gage if 17's would look good on the 10th Gen's. Most run 18's which looks great but i just love the added grip and look of beefy tires. You can also go 17x9 +35 btw. I couldnt because these Enkei's come in +40 & +45. Although maybe next set i can test fit 265/40/R17 since i have 5mm to play with:thumbsup:

Here's a 17" fest for you! All 3 of us ended up at the same AutoX day without planning that, and with RPF1's. I had 17x8 +45 with 245/40R17 Indy500's (sold because I didn't like the Gold, narrow width, and high offset). Blue with Silver has/had 17x8.5 235/40R17 (can't recall offset), and Black as you know 17x9 +45, but he added a 3mm spacer to clear the brakes.

NICE!! Whaaat?? The blue with Gold looked good... but i think white on the Blue probably looks the best. I was testing the fitment on "will they fit" for 265/40/17 vs 255/40/17 and the 265's diameter is 2mm shorter than stock. So with height not being an issue and its showing poke to be exactly the same as the current setup... i think it may fit. Maybe for your next setup you can pioneer that fitment, since you arent as low with the H&R Springs:thumbsup:

Don't even ask how much time I've spent on Will They Fit! Here's my debate: I want the Brembo 4-piston Calipers off the Hyundai Genesis Coupe... ever since I've gotten my eyes on them, I've been in a pickle about fitment. 17's won't clear with at least 3-4mm of space from the barrel from my research, and 18's not only need the right offset, but also design of the spokes has to be more BBK friendly. I've seen 18x8.5 +40 RPF1 clear, but not 18x8.5 +35 Konig Ultraform.

Do I ditch the idea of BBK and go 17's, or BBK + 18's...decisions!

I wouldnt ditch BBK at all, just need need the right wheel. Typically 5 spoke wheels tend to concave more which give bigger brake clearance. 27Won has a BBK that clears 17x8 +40 Enkei Kojins (5 spoke). maybe find out their brake dimensions and compare them to the Brembos. Although im guessing you like very light weight multi spoke wheels? Mine weigh 19.9 but i think the konigs weigh like 16ish? which is a big difference lol

EDIT: I should add that i had no problem clearing the stock brakes with my wheel setup. (Estimating) It currently looks like from brake to wheel spoke , I have a 2" gap. from Brake to wheel well, a pinky worth of gap from the tightest point.

Thankfully I found this thread, I just ordered my first set of aftermarket wheels: 57CR 17x9 +38, going to put on 255/40 Falken Azenis. Will post pictures in a few months when I get them!

Cant wait to see this!
Well it took a while (JDM wait), but here they are! 17x9+38 57CR Gunblue Metal II. Decided to go with Indy500 255/40s instead. Project Kics lugs w/ locks and centering ring. I am on Eibach Pro Kit springs. No rubbing, had already bent the front tab before. So far, I've been enjoying them on my commute to work taking Topanga Canyon in Southern California. Only go to the office twice a week so its been great. Have sbc camber arms I was going to install but the back nut on the left side of the car is pretty hard to get to. Any tips on camber arm install let me know please!
