I live in an area with a decent amount of potholes would like to have a tire with good specs to try and protect against it or lessen the effect of hitting potholes. Did some research about the Fitment and seen some people suggesting 235/45r17 to have the the least amount of error for speedometer and better road contact due to wider tire.

stock 2020 couple LX rims and tires
215/55r16
16x7 Offset 45

Planned Flush/near flush fitment for Konig hypergram
235/45r17
17x8 Offset 35
stock suspension
not lowering

Haven’t been able to find any similar specs for this tire and wheel on Fitment Industries. I’m looking to have no modifications to have this setup. Will it fit? Would a flush setup allow more debris to hit the side of the car due to the tires being closer to the fenders?

I'm rocking some Konig Ultraforms in 17x9 ET34 with 255/40 tires. I've been on this setup for about 10 months without any issues. You'll be good, my video on the wheels and tires are below.

I'm lowered on Swift Springs and have no spacers installed.

I personally don’t see anything wrong with the fitment you want. It’s should fit. Won’t be a flush setup but definitely an improvement over stock. I’m running those wheels but in 18x8.5 wrapped with 235/40/r18. Pic below is with stock suspension.

The further out a wheel sits towards fender will increase the amount of debris that could be thrown up on the side of the vehicle.

A 17x8 with ET+35 offset isn't overly aggressive though and should sit just within the fender.

Compared to the stock wheels. the 17x8 ET+35 is going to sit about 1-inch further out towards the fender. Inside clearance towards the suspension is about the same.

Is 17x8 +35 offset wrapped on a 225/45/17 be too aggressive ?? Will there be any rubbing ?

That's not aggressive at all. In fact, 235/45 would have a rolling diameter closer to stock and will fit better on an 8" wide wheel. You won't have any rubbing with this set up.

I had a set of 17x8 HD wheels with 225/45's and had no rubbing. This tire size is slightly smaller than the 235/45's. Now, I'm running 18" wheels.

If you're set on 8.5", I'd recommend 235/45-17 and +35 as the perfect fitment.

The 235/40-17 size you want will not only throw your speedometer off, you'll have the fender gap from hell.
