My friend is looking to sell me his Ktuner V2 but he has a Type R. I have a hatchback but I’m not sure if the @KTuner unit will be compatible.

Yes, Ktuner isn't model specific and will work with your hatchback. Just make sure the unit is unlocked from the previous ECU and also that tour ECU model has support from ktuner.
