Hey guys!

In the market for new tires to daily and autoX in on the stock 2016 Touring sedan's 17" wheels. What's the widest you guys have been able to run? Stock is 215/50 if I recall. I'm wondering if the stock rim can handle 235 or perhaps wider. I am lowered on Megan racing springs about an inch and have 20mm spacers,, but still have plenty of clearance assuming I keep a similar ratio.

Edit: I'm as specifically looking at RE-71Rs in 235/45 R17

Also taking tire recommendations!

You can probably squeeze 235s on there if you go to a shop willing to put time into it. I got 255s on my 17x8s. Because it was such a pain, I just go with 245s now (and the folks at the tire shop don't give me dirty looks any more).

Went ahead with the 235s and they fit pretty nicely. No rubbing, luckily. Now to go kill some cones...

I have custom wheels that are 17x7.5 and was able fit 235/45/17. 235 is max recommended for this size rims.
I too previously had 215/50/17

Here in Europe Civics came straight out of the factory with 235/45 17 on 17" and, judging from the pics, it looks the same wheel.

Do you have any pics showing the wheel gap? That size tire is a smaller diameter than stock size in the US.
