Just curious why Eventuri is the only manufacture that incorporates a true cold air pipe attached to the bottom of the intake box. The design seems to work really well - but no one else incorporates a similar design feature.

Thoughts?

the bottom duct is not really a true cold air intake its not sucking in outside air unlike the top.

The OEM intake technically is a cold air intake as is. Just not setup as you would think with it pulling in air down below the bumper. It's sealed all the way out to the duct that sticks out past the radiator.

Not sure of their reasoning for having that long elbow pointed down into the box. Haven't seen one in person but the filter looks a little smaller than most typical cone filters

when PRL was initially designing their intake, they were thinking about it. I'm going to assume that the benefits and the lack of space in that area was not worth adding an additional pipe and the added cost.

Do we have any data proving that the secondary air inlet on the Eventuri actually provides a real benefit, or is it just a selling point “hey, we’re the only one with the extra air inlet”? I don’t know.

Wonder if Acuity ever plans to bring their CAI to market. This was on Kevin Boehm's SI race car w/CTR motor swap. It removes the turbo inlet pipe and routes to the passenger side bumper vent area. The wiper fluid tank would have to be removed for fitment.

I remember seeing a video saying they might work on it but it’s going to be tough due to space constraints on the FK8.

it's probably not that easy because the space is very limited there and you'd have to somehow fit the MAF housing also unless your on a Motec ECU.

Whoever makes an intake the goes over to the passenger side instead of utilizing the factory turbo inlet pipe directly over the oven will get my money. For now my PRL "Stage 1" will suffice.

They're not the only one.
The sprint filter C-Tech Carbon intake is also a sealed cold air intake and makes the same peak hp as eventuri (15hp)and even more in the midrange.(40hp)

I don't think the Sprint intake system has a snorkel that travels down into the lower bumper ... compared to the Eventuri. Again - the Eventuri is the only intake system that has this snorkel.
