Looking to pick up an fk8 lightly used in the low 30's. In my area, they are selling for $38k with 20-30 thousand miles. Ridiculous! Do you guys expect prices to drop? If so, when?

It's not because of the car it's because of the market right now. When the lots become saturated again car prices will tank... bad. At least a year and i'm sure you'll see them in the high 20's.

Yeah, it’s not going to. Used Si’s are going for over $26k. The type r won’t lower in the short term. Especially now since it’s discontinued until the next gen.

it would take a saturated market, but this is reminding me of cash for clunkers. IDK if prices are ever going to go down now that dealerships can sell at or above MSRP without anyone complaining

I might argue that you’re right in that MSRP+ prices are not going to drop anytime soon, but not necessarily because people aren’t complaining. Rather, people are capitulating, grumbling while they sign the paperwork, then dealerships are laughing all the way to the bank.

I ask anyone to answer this Q: Is there any form of sizable percentage of new car buyers who need a new vehicle so badly that they’ll pay MSRP+? Go ahead, I’ll wait.

We did this to ourselves. WE, the consumers, have to stop buying at these stupid prices. Need a car, like, now? Get one used, a couple of years old, at a fair market value. It’ll mostly likely be just as reliable as newer vehicles.

TBH, I was expecting more on your quoted price, like $48k.

There’s a shortage of new cars at the moment and it’s affecting car prices (including used cars). You’ll see prices normalize when you see car lots are full of cars. I’d wait until next fall if you’re not in a hurry to purchase.
