Does anyone know how to fix this? I applied brushless wheel cleaner, bought from Amazon for $5, results can be seen on photos. Anyone can help with fix? Why this might happen? Wheels are from Tirerack. All 4.

Looked like they spray painted and sold it to you.

A couple of questions.

1. Which Focal wheel and finish are those?

2. What exact cleaning product did you use and how did you apply it?

Did you rinse the wheels after using the cleaner? Have you tried cleaning them with a brush after the incident?

Stop buying from Amazon, seriously. A quality wheel cleaner isn’t expensive to grab at any shop. Too many counterfeit products coming from Amazon these days, spend the extra couple bucks and get something you can trust.

Yikes

Brushless wheel cleaner for that cheap is usually garbage

You also want to make sure you wheels are cool before you start cleaning

Here's what I would try:

- make sure wheels are cool
- spray with hose
- use undiluted APC (i like optimum power clean) and spray liberally across wheel
- agitate with a wheel brush (i like the optimum wheel and body brush moistened with ONR) or a wheel mitt you can purchase off Amazon
- spray off with hose
- dry with a clean microfiber towel
- reassess

Stay away from spray-and-walk-away wheel cleaners. These cleaners generally have corrosives to make your job easier at the expense of the wheel’s finish, the rotor, and any other suspension components. Again, stay away from any of those products.

From the picture, your wheels do not appear to have any damage. They look like they have some of that cleaner that did not rinse off the wheel, and left brake dust as well. Simply get a bucket, a microfiber towel, add your favorite car wash, and wash the wheels. If you want to clean the inner part of the wheel, get some wheel-woolies to reach in the wheel and remove the brake dust in there.

Most wheel cleaners say to only leave product on for 1-2 minutes then rinse.

No direct sun or heat, wheels should be cool.

Some wheel cleaners are for specific finishes.

Personally I would use the affordable cleaning products on a beater car, etc. Also see what others are using on similar or same wheels.

Any of you guys notice something odd? The OP has never updated even though he is on regularly, even today. It would be nice to find out what happened.

This kind of feels like an Unsolved Mysteries episode.
