So I got these new wheels. Aodhan 18x9 +30. I'm trying to run 245 40 or my stock 235 40 tires. Don't want it too stretched. Don't plan on lowering it at all as well. This setup just seems too much poke for me. Just want a flush stock height look. But isn't 18x9.5 +35 the same poke as a 18x9 +30? Ive been through a lot of these threads and it seems like the higher offsets don't poke out as much even though it's much wider. Also can't find these in any smaller size. Unless I buy the really expensive ones like the volk ze40, which I don't want to. Just need some input before I pull this trigger on some tires. Or just return the wheels and try again. Thanks.

The tires will fit ... a bit of stretch ... but I've seen 235/40R18 on 9.5" wide wheels (this is too much stretch, for my personal taste).

If you are looking for a flush fitment, and a 9" wheel ... I'd recommend a 40-45 offset.

Damn I was just about to buy these, been told that 35 offsets should be flush so I figured 30 would be okay but that stinks it pokes so far.

OEM wheel is 18x8 with an offset of +50.
Your 18x9 wheel has an offset of +30

Your wheel is 1" (25.4mm) wider than OEM. The offset calculation is from the center of your wheel to mounting face, so your extra 20mm of offset + 1/2 the new width ( 12.7mm) = 32.7mm

This is how much more your new wheels stick out compared to your OEM. 32.7mm is very significant, which is why you have so much poke.

The same math on a 18x9.5 +35 wheel would give you 34.05mm more poke than OEM.

Just want to spread the knowledge! A lof of ppl don't actually KNOW what the numbers mean.

Imagine putting 35mm spacers on your OEM wheels! It would look pretty ridiculous. I personally wouldn't go more than 20-25mm closer to the fender. I'm looking at 18x9 wheels with an offset anywhere between +38 and +45.

35 offset is flush, if running 8" wide wheels ...
As width increases, it changes WHERE the outside edge of the rim is.

Offset is the measurement from the hub face of the wheel, to the centerline of the wheel. If you increase the wheel width by 1/2" (12.5mm), then the offset will need to be adjusted by 6.25mm, to maintain the same outside edge of the rim location. Increase width by 1" (25mm), then the offset needs to be adjusted by 12.5mm.

Also keep in mind that the INSIDE face of the rim will be moving closer to the suspension ...

I hope that this has been a little helpful.

Decided to hell with it. Throw it on if I don't like it take it off. Poke is definitely there. Any inputs are appreciated, good or bad. Thanks

Less poke for sure. Definitely more tucked with the suspension compressed.

I like it. Especially with the beefier tire. Only concern would be rubbing during hard cornering/with full car...

I like it a lot. Wheels look great and not too much poke. Any plans for lessening the wheel gap? I know you'll have to address rubbing issues but it would look mean if you dropped it a bit.

I understand that man! Still looks good stock height:thumbsup: I'm trying to keep mine stock and resist the urge to lower her. All previous cars I've lowered but I'm pretty happy with factory ride height of our cars.

I agree. Stance looking particularly good with the wheels/tires, lip, splashies... ?
