So 2 honda accord in my apt complex have had their wheels stolen over the past week. Now I'm worried someone is going to steal my wheel. I found these wheel locks that cover the lug nuts completely so I ordered a set. They are expensive but less than my deductable if my wheels were stolen. Us.rimgard.com

While those do look interesting, looks like they are specifically designed to be use with OEM wheels, per their website.

Yes, currently I have my stock wheels installed for the winter. It would be a bigger hit if those were stolen since they cost more than my aftermarket wheel.

Wouldn't a locking lug nut set be better because it would protect whatever wheels you have on?

Thieves can work around them. I'm sure they can figure a way around these too but it would throw them off for sure. Both accords had the factory lock set.

I think you'd be better off with something inconspicuous like this:

https://www.amazon.com/Gorilla-Automotive-Products-38431XL-Chrome/dp/B01KZULYP4

It's a tough proposition to spend $300 for wheel locks for OE wheels, when ppl are selling their OE wheels & tires on here all the time for a pretty reasonable price. In the unfortunate event that your wheels ever did get stolen!
I already have these locks, as well as stock. I don't want to walk out to my car at 530am to go to work and see my car sitting on a milk crate. So the $300 is totally worth it if it can prevent that.

If a thief can steal accord’s lock lug nut, they can steal your wheels with $300 lug nuts. It’s not hard to break a lug nut and mess up the wheel.

This is a good point. When I worked at a mechanic's shop back in the day wheel lock removal was a $50 service we offered. All we did was use a nut removal tool and impact or a sacrificial HF socket.

Anyone with a hammer and an 18mm can defeat most wheel locks in seconds.

The rimgard locks came in today. These guys are very nicely made, very thick metal. Feeling confident my own wheels won't get jacked now. Will be installing tomorrow after work.

Can you post a photo of the front side of the Rimgards? Thanks!
I'll post more pics tomorrow when I install
. They re-use the oem center caps.

Installed the wheel gards today, very heavy duty without the key these things will not be easy to remove by any means.

I think I would just lower my deductible all the way down and hope they stole my wheels so I could get much nicer aftermarket ones.
