Welcome to the #coupegang
Just got her last week. Super excited to start modding her to be my perfect daily for a long time 🤍
Any suggestions on reliability upgrades?
My first few mods/upgrades are going to be:
- PRL Cobra Cold Air Intake
- front and rear sway bars (probably Eibachs)
- Window Tint and Ceramic Coating
- Floor/Trunk Mats
Cosmetic Mod list:
- Clear Side Marker lights
- Eibach Pro-Kit lowering Springs
- MAPerformance Street Exhaust / HKS Hi Power exhaust / Full Race exhaust (I can't decide)
- Avid1 AV20 Hyperblack 18x8.5 +35 wheels (maybe)
- New Summer Tires (haven't decided on which)
- Type R replica rear diffuser
If you have any suggests for more reliability or daily driving upgrades, please let me know! Also go ahead and criticize my list however you want! I'm open to suggestions. I'm not a mechanic, not do I claim to know much about the civic, but I am absolutely will to learn. The extent of my knowledge is from forums, YouTube university, and fixing personal mistakes from my previous "build" of my 2019 ex hatchback.
Thanks in advance!
Plasti Dipped. When I eventually get new wheels these will be my winter beaters. I just wanted something fast and cheap to pretty them up a bitPlasti dip the wheels or powder coat? Been thinking about this route for a minute and i like how yours look.
Nice. Debating between the k165 vs dsk165.Small mods lately.
Crutchfield had Hertz going for a decent price, and given the upgrade for the Fronts from OEM…
…you can see why I upgraded. That said, those new speaks + Viper4Android worked wonders! (V4A doesn’t work with CarPlay, so, switched back to Bluetooth). Now, I reeeeally want to do the Kicker drop-in upgrade.
Also, after my ride height adjustment, let everything settle for some miles, double-checked again to ensure the height was still fixed, then had her re-aligned to get ride of the cockeyed steering wheel. Seems back to straightness again!
It was a small difference from OEM at the outset, but I think that’s because the OEM stereo wasn’t primed to use them. V4A amp’d things up!Nice. Debating between the c165 vs dsk165.
I test drove a Veloster N, before buying my Si ...Another test drive in the books (DCT)
that in the front doors? I really want to start somewhere with this awful factory unit.Small mods lately.

I should of worded that better. I’ve read about how the head unit isn’t good I meant the whole sound system unit in general. I doubt I’ll swap head unitsYep.
Apparently, unit replacements are hit and miss, and just don’t fully integrate with all of the OEM systems (mic, reverse cam, etc.). There’s a thread about it somewhere on here.
Ah. No, yeah, the whole system def primed for an upgrade. One of the reasons I got the Si is because of the integrated sub. I have the Kicker sub coming, of which I’m excited.I should of worded that better. I’ve read about how the head unit isn’t good I meant the whole sound system unit in general. If I could have found and Elantra GT N-line with 3 pedals when I was shopping it would have been a serious contender. Still wish the SI came as a hatch.Another test drive in the books (DCT)
