Does anyone know what the little blue light in the middle of this picture means. Couldn't find it in the owners manual.

It shines down onto the center console at night. Just a little bit of illumination.

In my 2013 Accord as well. I loved it... just enough to provide visibility to the console area while driving without needing to turn on the interior lighting

In european cars, they have them in amber, to illuminate the interior when there aren't street lights and stuff around.I was very pleased to see it in the new Civic. Sounds like Honda has been doing it for a while, but was non-existent in my old 09, or any other Japanese car I've had.

My favorite, however, is the upper and lower cubby illumination. It's hard to take a picture of, but I don't remember car reviewers mentioning this (maybe they don't drive them at night much.) It's very useful, and looks cool.

It used to be a "luxury perk." Higher trim Accords and Acuras had them for awhile now.

I just read up on the console illumination add on, way too much work to install a small light on the side.

i think its called a reading light. you can put something underneath it so you can read it with out having to turn on the lights.

How could that little blue light give any real illumination? Not sure what it's for.

To make it easier to find controls and the console pocket and so on in the dark?

Maybe I'm looking at the wrong blue light.
I'm looking at the little blue light in the center between the sun roof switch and the light control switch.
Can't find one near the console pocket.

I can feel it, I think it's slightly left of center in the upper part, i.e. where you'd put your phone. This one is white.

That's the one. I meant that console area in front of the shifter. Just intended to wash the area below it with *some* light. We've had similar lights in an Acura TL and our CR-V. In a light-polluted urban environment, they are not very effective. In a rural area on a cloudy/moonless night, they are better than nothing.
