I still do it myself. As others say, a mechanic doesn't care about the car he's working on. For me, It's piece of mind and I treat my car like a baby. Recently changed the cvt fluid, just changed the air and cabin filters and I'm due for an oil and filter change soon as I'm down to 40%. And I'm 63 years old, I've always done this on all my cars. Today, there are so any videos that show you how to do it. Save money!

Here in Maryland and NOVA it costs about $51-$80. Several dealers have 10% of coupons after 12pm or $10 off for paying online.

At the dealership I go to in northern Maryland. I can get an oil change & filter & tire rotation for under $100.

I have to say oil change prices in the usa are really low compared to EU prices.

$74 dollars (which included a $10 discount). This doesn't even include tire rotations. Service done at my local reliable Honda Dealership which I've been going to for the past 16 years.

For all of you whose oil changes cost more than $40, do you know if your dealership uses Honda oil? My dealership uses mobil1 and probably super synthetic

I do it myself, I just ask the dealer of my choice for shop time. Do I pay them? Not really, I'll just bring in snacks lol

I had one tech serviced my car (B17 + Alignment), treated my FK8 like a baby. He also serviced my A90MKV and FC1 Si before

I live in a condo and can't do it myself, otherwise I would. Since purchase with 271 miles on her I've been taking her to the dealer an hour away because they have a much better reputation compared to the dealer 10 minutes from me. They also have a great deal you can't beat for $89 that includes:

0w20 fully synthetic oil
Oil filter
Tire rotation
New wiper inserts
Multi-point inspection
Battery test
Brake inspection
Tire inspection
Top-off fluids
Car wash if I so desire

Seeing most of these prices makes me happy that I do my oil changes myself. My company gets a discount at Car Quest, so I pay 39.99 with tax for 5 quarts of Castrol Edge 0W20 and a K&N oil filter.

For the dealership techs, I agree with most people saying they don't care. My first job as a mechanic was at Pep Boys, and with flat rate, the faster a car is done, the more money you can make. Get a 3 hour job done in 1.5, you still get paid for the 3. Flag 12 hours in an 8 hour day, still get paid for the 12. I cared a little more about customer cars than some of the senior techs, but I saw the mentality first hand. I work at a forklift and yard Goat dealership that has it's own fleet, so now I'm hourly. A truck is still a truck whether it's a customer unit or a fleet unit, treat them all the same.
