Motul 0w20 ecolite but really anything that is synthetic is fine.
I use Motul purely for the built in pour spout!

Mobil 1 @ costco $32.99 for 6 quarts
The Kirkland Signature is also very good. My research says it is from the same distributor/manufacturer as Amazon basics oil. They have both shown to be very, very comparable to top oil brands and meet all revelant API testing. 10 quarts for like 26$.

I see a lot of people using synthetic 0w20 but not all 0w20 oil is SN plus rated for turbo charged motors. Making sure your oil is SN plus the oil is manufactured for turbo charged motors to prevent pre-detonation in the combustion chamber in your car.

Literally ANY oil with a Dexos 1 Gen 2 or 3 label on it will be fine - use with confidence as you or your engine won’t know the difference. I’ve run Pennzoil Platinum and am currently on a Valvoline Extended Protection fill.

I change between 5-6000 miles every time. Oil is cheap, engine work is not.

Yes but I’ve seen oil analysis on the 2.0t Accords like I have and Civic Type R using 0w20 and they shear down to a 0w16. So my best guess would be to use a regular 0w20 fully synthetic and do more frequent changes 3000 miles or do depending on if you race or not or a 5w30. The fuel dilution and shearing of some 0w20 oils makes them thin out a lot !

Does it have to be SN plus? Because I know Redline standard and their racing oil is not SN plus probably because of their high contents of anti wear additives (Zinc) which can cause issues with the cat on the car. But I’m sure high performance oils that are not SN plus are suitable for turbo engines.
Has anyone done an oil analysis on here? I don’t have a Type R but I got the K20C4 in my Accord which is similar I’ll be doing an oil analysis soon and then I’ll see if I’ll stick to 0w20 or go 5w30!

That’s some good oil. Are those Purolator filters high flowing like the K&N filters ?

Some can shear def. Thats why i’m a 5-6k change at most. My preference. It doesn’t go below 50% in the minder. Besides, I like crawling under and getting eyes on the drivetrain at regular intervals in case something pops up.

Gf-6 oil with 5k oci and your good. Gdi turbo cars are hard on oil and will lose viscosity over time. Especially pennzoil.

go to bitog.com for good info
