Someone hit me and this sensor busted through the bumper. Just wondering what it’s for! Maybe it isn’t a sensor at all but electrical for the fog lights?

I have a 2019 sport if it matters.

Honda Civic 10th gen What is this sensor in the bumper? A892421F-B83D-43A4-8505-CBDA3A449110

I viewed it the other day when it first showed up but have no idea what it is.

The forum shows you've had 137 views when I look it.

Ouch. Hopefully everyone is okay. I'd rip the bumper cover off (since it's trashed) and have a better look & take better pics.

All is well, thanks. I will probably get the bumper replaced, but it’s honestly mostly reparable as it is if I can get behind it and pop it back out. We shall see.

My assumption is that it's some kind of radar-related sensor. It isn't connected to the fog lights, it's entirely standalone. I was under the bumper of mine the other day and noticed this, it's got quite a few pins on the connector so it's likely something important.

Is there a P/N visible? That may be helpful in tracking it down.

Interesting. I don’t see a P/N but I will try and pop the bumper back out so when I’m down there I’ll see if I can find something.

That's how many people are "watching" this thread. They would do this to get a notification if anyone posts in here.

Sorry, can't help you with the sensor issue, however.
Got it. All good thanks!

Does it have also something yellow on it? There is a chance this is an airbag sensor.

If it's a potted plastic sensor, it's likely a crash sensor - I'd expect to see an SRS error of some kind displayed given the impact.

Beyond the parking sensors and ACC Radar, there's no other radar sensors in the front of the car:- There are a couple hidden behind the rear arches on cars with BLIS / Cross traffic alert.

Yeah I have zero malfunctions so...I dunno about it being the airbags. Seems to be a bit of an exposed place to put an airbag sensor. I would think it would be deeper in a bit, so that a minor plastic fender bender like this doesn’t total your car!
