They say if you disable EGT will get you close to 370HP or more , or is hondata youtube video wrong?
Well, what video then? That’s the only one I know of that mentions EGT.no its stock turbo and no FBO

At the end of the second paragraph.Utilizing better fuels and a larger turbo, we came across a new ECU boost limit which was not allowing the Type R to reach full potential. With the new gathered data our programmers were able pin point the limit that was not allowing the FK8 to reach maximum boost.
Coming from someone who thought the same when he first got his R and has worked up bit by bit over the years, this car is a hell of a lot more fun at 400whp and even at 350 if it's tuned properly. I can't stand how the stock tune feels, falling on its face once the turbo is actually spooled. Even going back to 93 from E30 sucks, lol.I guess I have to ask - why is that your goal? Are you just going for bragging rights/ personal goal? I ask because the car is silly quick stock - even with just a Hondata it gets less and less traction out the hole , which is minimal at best, stock. So what's your goal / why do you even want 400hp?

Well that certainly sounds like an ideal tune and approach my friend. I didn't consider a perfected tune in my mind as far as reduced torque tables to make it liveable on the daily.Coming from someone who thought the same when he first got his R and has worked up bit by bit over the years, this car is a hell of a lot more fun at 400whp and even at 350 if it's tuned properly. I don't have traction issues whatsoever unless I try to launch it from a stop because I've fine-tuned my torque tables and traction control in critical spots to allow my tires to hook. It's an absolute monster that can launch off like a rocket at any roll speed and keep me back in my seat all the way to redline. I still do not have torque steer, nor do I have any issues putting the power down in corners.
On my tunes, the power comes on smoothly and there is practically no point at which you apply more pedal and don't instantly get more power, regardless of gear or RPM. It isn't super sharp like the basemaps. To keep the stock cruising feel, I have parts of the comfort maps copied over. That alone has taken my mileage from 16mpg to 20+ consistently, too.
The thing to remember about tuning is that it isn't just 'push up all the numbers and make 400whp', especially on our ECU that lets us target a specific amount of torque at certain pedal positions and RPMs. There's a lot you can improve on with the factory maps that makes this additional power usable and even makes overall drivability and economy better.
It's all about the tuner properly balancing the tune.
