You guys are funny. Looking at 1/4miles times a bit tooo much. times are all about driver.. trap speed where the real measurement is! 95mph trap speed on stock ecobox or half ecobox si is pretty respectable

True. Still one of the guys here pulled a 14.5 bone stock. Which is very impressive for the 1.5t. Chit I seen bigger motors in my neighbors lawn mower lol

Alex on Autos (Youtube Car reviewer) got a 14.7 second 1/4 mile and trapped 98mph. Underrated engine.

some of u ppl are delusional. its not underrated. honda lists it at 205 and ppl who have dynoed it stock consistently pull 180ish to the wheels, so thats about right for a 205 bph rated engine.

14.5-14.7 isnt fast. its slow stock but i still love it the engine/car

Not true. Every dyno is different, different day, different weather etc can yield different results. But most reputable people in the game (VitViper, Hondata, JST performance) have gotten over 200hp to the wheels stock.

Almost every stock dyno I've seen shows higher tq numbers then the car is supposed to have. Horsepower is usually where it should be to the wheels.

You're right. It isn't fast compared to real sports cars. But it's respectable for a sport compact in it's price range. You're making it seem like this car can't hang with a 3 cyl Geo Metro ;-D

Exactly
The purpose of the SI model is to offer reliable, quick, comfortable and economic to run car. If you want performance with little compromise, the type R is there for that.

Which other car can provide 40-42 mpg and 14.5-14.8 seconds on the 1/4 mile?

i can agree and disagree with this. 205hp is not much.. its ok but not much to pull mid -high 14's what honda did is gave a nice low ration trans gearing so it makes very good use of the little 1.5 and its hp. the down side of this that you might get pulled by alot of other cars on high way rolls, as you can be off power band many times or can be towards the end of your gear, short gearing and having to constantly shift 1 more then the other. this is why i love 5 speed with correct gearing ratio and massive torque range. the legacy is horrible torqless peewee gun on the other side my jetta 5 speed has a really nice matched 2nd and a really tall 3rd it goes up to 103mp at 6krpm

Having owned my Si for over a year it’s a great car, love it. It’s not a 1/4 mile car not by the longest stretch of the imagination, and treating it as such, replacing original parts, etc and drag racing it will only lead to you having a car that either blows up or runs like shit. Buy a Mustang GT with a blower
This!!!

What point are you trying to get across?

It’s an SI not a type R.
It’s in this category for the reasons he stated.
well lets look at facts. its the 2nd top tier below the type r, it has an lsd it only comes in manual, so to down play it as it is not a type r its an excuse when under pressure. Yea the type R is not an NSX either. Not every sport car is or has to be F1 ranked to be a sport car. Now if you said the ext i could understand. BUT its an Si, own the identity!
