She's a beauty!!

Congrats man !!! Do enjoy it, you deserve it!!
So far so good. I had blast trying out all the new features on the 3hr drive back. Sadly she doesn't look that pretty anymore since I killed about 5,000 bugs in Indiana on the way out of town :(. Guess i know what i'll be doing later tonight.

Spent the last 6 months being indecisive between like 10 different cars. Finally pulled the trigger today on a red Civic EX Hatchback; so far, pretty happy and I feel like the price was good. Especially for what most dealerships quoted me.

State: Virginia
MSRP $24,250
Sale Price $20,026
Frieght 955
Doc Fee 899
Tag & Title 88.75
Sale Tax 949.05

Total $22,917.80

They came down over 4,200 from msrp? Any trade in, incentives, etc?

Yessir. No trade in. Got another $500 off for recent graduation as well so it was really more like $22,400. Was originally in the market for the sport, but at this price.. started with a true car quote originally for 20,026. Had to drive about 100 miles but totally worth it.

Comparing OTD prices are useless, unless you are in the same state, since each state has different sales tax and other fees. Back in January, I bought a 2020 Civic EX Sedan, Molten Lava Pearl, no trade, cash deal, no add-ons, in Maryland for $21,800 (plus taxes, tags, and title). The car had a $24,630 MSRP (Sticker $23,700 + $930 Destination). My total OTD price was almost $1,000 less than yours. What was your actual purchase price for the car (no taxes, tags, and title)?

Really good point, I didn't think of it like that but definitely makes a lot more sense to compare that rather than out the door cost.

$21,337.00 without the accessories/add ons they had the on car which they basically forced me to get which I knew would happen. But considering the price you got sounds like we were both getting pretty much lowest price the dealers would do (at that time) before any add on's or service packages :headbang: (unless I missed a previous post showing otherwise :dunno:)

It had security system which they were trying to charge me $1,800 for, "paint protection" they were trying to charge me $1,200 for, wheel locks which they were charging me $90 for.
I played stupid though and kept telling them to take off the security system, paint protection and wheel locks (I wasn't telling them to take off the price, I was telling them to physically take them off the car knowing that they can't/wont except for the wheel locks), so they ended up dropping everything to $0 except for security system which they charged me $1,512.00 which I still wasn't too happy with, but considering he left the wheel locks on and got him to throw in all season floor mats too I decided to just go with it, and the fact that I also got the $500 recent grad credit towards the final price helped as well.

So with add ons (mentioned above) and honda grad credit would be $22,349.00 before taxes and fees.

Drove 3hrs to pick up mine yesterday. Dealer honored the $24,360 we agreed upon earlier in the week. It was a pleasant experience even with getting a cracked windshield on the way down (just my luck) we haggled a little and only dropped the agreed trade in value down $200. We had to drive it out of the showroom when it was time.

Ah my bad. Didn’t pay attention with si badge. Just focus on the headlight, I thought sport touring.
planing to get 2021 hatch sport not sure where to go to get best price. I’m trying to get quote from costco and sams, the lowest I get $23,380 + fee and tax for grey. Not ready yet to step on dealership floor.

Invoice for a 2021 sport hatch CVT is $23,851 (before tax/fees/destination, subtract $800 for manual). Going through costco auto website is the easiest way to get a good price.

Send emails/call your local dealers if you want more confidence in your pricing.

From my understanding, the market is rough right now due to the supply shortage.

That is definitely an SI. Invoice for a Sport Touring is 27.4k (before destination/taxes/fee) so you won't go below that.
Thanks for clarifying that for him. Crazy that the Sport Touring is that much more when you get a much better car (IMO) with the SI for a lot less money (as long as you can drive stick anyway).

Doc fee : $799.50
Total tax : $708.51
Total finance : $24,500

is it good deal?
do you mind explain to me what is invoice? Is that mean price after discount?

Invoice is the price that the dealer buys the car from the manufacturer (so Honda in our case). Therefore, they generally won't sell a car below that since they will take a loss, but if they do, they'll try to make it up in other ways.

That is a good deal! There may be some more room, but that would require more hand wringing of the salesperson, so I would just take that deal. They may try to sell you on addons/warranties in person, but generally you can avoid those unless they are already on the car (such as tints/protection films/etc.)
