2020 Civic Hatchback Sport Touring with 10 miles listed at $28,950, got it down too $25,000
Wow it gets tempting at that price. I still prefer the Si for the LSD and the 2020 wheels, prefer the Sport Touring for the hatch and looks.

Honda Civic 10th gen What did you pay? 20200716_093505

Helped a family member purchase a 2020 Si Sedan. There was one catch; had to finance for 60 months at 6%. Cash purchase price was about $24.5k. There is no early payoff penalty and it will be paid off after 3 or 4 months. Essentially only about $1K will be financed.

That's weird, they're clearly giving a big discount and hoping to make it back on interest. Reminds me of the housing crisis where they were so desperate for loans to securitize that they sold loans they knew would never be paid back. They're either hoping he'll ride the loan for 2+ years or they don't care.

Well that’s good for people who are looking to finance for the discounts while also immediately turning around and paying it off. I planned on doing just that, but I’m now waiting to see what the 2021 models bring.

I can't get a starting price that low on a sport hatch that's msrp is lower than the Si sedan. I was told it's due to low availability.

It varies greatly by dealership. I've talked to like 5 of them about Si sedans, I got 3 at MSRP, and 2 at $2100 off. Nothing in between.

I've contacted about the same number, and everyone came back with same price. And looking at inventory around the area of those dealers they have 11 total hatches between them. Seems like they are holding on to every dollar till new ones show up.

In SW Ohio. Let me know if you want the info. I'm not sure how much more anyone is going to deal with the stop in production.

The salesman hinted that they get a kickback from the financier as long as the loan is held for 3 or 4 months. I don't think there is any obligation to do so BUT $100 in interest seemed like a fair price for such a big discount.

It's typically 90 days. Hold on to it and pay it down on day 91 and the dealership will get paid.
Thanks, do you know if there is a minimal amount because that's the difference between paying $100+/month in interest versus $10.

Absolutely, but yeah, they can't legally limit when you pay off the loan, they're just going with the odds that most buyers won't pay it off in 3 months.
