That's fantastic! I'll try that dealership for my touring sedan. May I use you as a reference in hopes of getting a great deal? Any help would be greatly appreciated, sir!

Thank you.
I doubt a reference would help, truthfully I know nothing about car buying. My friend literally did all the talking and leg work. He was a pain in the ass for them. Even the internet sales specialist complimented him after we signed all the paperwork and handed us the keys.

I mean if it helps I'll give his strategy. Called two dealerships, "I have excellent credit and am looking to buy X". When the two dealerships bottomed out in price, he added a third dealership to the mix. When that bottomed out, he started included others. Multiple calls later over the course of 3-4 days, we were on our way to the dealership with the best price (Honda in Dublin, CA). We stopped in another on the way, asked to speak to the internet sales specialist or whatever he's called. They tried going higher after they saw my credit, my friend would not back down. blah blah blah. Deal.

Wait, never mind. I thought you said $20098 was the OTD price. Congratulations on the car! But I'm aiming to get the touring for around $24-25000 OTD so it doesn't appear to be that good of a deal to me.

The term out the door includes all taxes and fees. $22.1K seems around the lowest one can get EX-T in SoCal. I saw that someone, a former salesmen, got the same deal but with financing at Corona in the other thread. There are also recent quotes people have been posting that the EX-L can be had for the $23.5k OTD, so my deal seems in line with theirs. However, I been seeing alot more new civics popping up lately too though (probably due to tax season), so prices may not as competitive anymore.
Unless I'm missing something, it's an excellent deal. I'm about $1,000 off of MSRP (Mind you I also got another $500 off for being a college grad so in my case the OTD for my 2016 Honda Civic EX-T was actually cheaper than 22k). In addition, my previous car broke down on a Wednesday, starting shopping on Thursday, signed on Sunday (4 days).

Be sure you're including your sales tax. It sounds like the guy from Stockton got an incredible deal at 25.5 OTD (similar sales tax to us both). If you think you're getting the touring for 24ish after tax with your CA sales tax, I'd be blown away after scanning all the prices on the forum (mind you I'm also looking at their sales tax for where they're at. The MSRP around LA for a touring is $27.5 with an avg sales price of $25k (before tax if I'm not incorrect). I'd still like to see his paperwork for 25.5. From what I've read Tourings aren't selling as well so getting a better deal would be likely.

If I'm wrong here (which I might be on account of beer), I want to be corrected.

As a side note Fijizzle, I keep seeing you pop up on the forum and saw the 25.8k. You're obviously putting in the extra effort man. I hope you do get it for under 25k. Get it! =D

Price on EX Sedan with Honda Sensing (WITH NO DEALER ADD-ONS) is going down in Texas!!

Lowest quote thus far (from Loving Honda in Lufkin, TX):

MSRP: 22,875.00
Discount: 2,610.17
Adjusted Price: 20,264.83
Tax: 1,266.55
Doc Fee: 125.00
Non Tax Fee: 243.62
OTD: 21,900.00

These guys have been the nicest and most understanding dealership in all of Texas. If you like this deal, talk with James Bruce. I did not accept this price as I am trying to be close to $21,000 OTD, however I promised them since they were nice that I would spread the word so there ya have it! :)

I'm in DFW area as well. Prices in area dealers are not very good. The one you got is very good. Do you think EX-L will get down to 21,500 + TTL

There is a user on these boards from San Antonio that got an EX-T for $21,500 OTD. I've asked him quite a while ago to help me out with a Buyers Order, but my request went ignored. If an EX-T sold for $21,500... I'm reeeeeeeally sure you can get it down to that price soon. Give it about a month or two if they don't budge this end of the month.

ext is very possible to get it at around 21.5k OTD if you invest the time to work the dealers. i have gotten the ext w/sensing for between 22.5-23k OTD before. but I went ahead and grab the touring.

so i've just got a oral quote for a Touring over the phone for about $25,800 out the door with some basic add-ons such as window tint , wheel lock etc. of course i will have to go in and get a more detailed price breakdown later, but as a starter, is this a fair price? I was thinking about OTD for under $25000, am I too crazy? Just want to double check before I ask haha thanks for the help

I think $25,000 OTD isn't crazy. Anything lower is possible, but not at the moment imo. Keep in mind that they can go back on their word since they just negotiated orally. A Retail Buyers Order has more credibility than a salesman's word.

If the gentleman from Stockton who bought a touring is being truthful with his 25.5k OTD price (mind you we have about a 9% sales tax) then I would assume with the right connections/work and having a lower sales tax in Texas (correct?) you could get it down that low/lower. He did say he spent 2 months working with dealerships and emails, and he hasn't provided proof yet. In additional Honda has been having record sales that continue to grow (http://www.civicx.com/threads/april-civic-sales.3378/), I am curious how this will affect market prices.

CaliSpartan has a point. Our sales tax in Texas is 6.25%. I'm definitely sure you can get it to 25k OTD or close to it!!
