Hi, so I was quoted at 27,500 for a honda civic ex-l [w/no honda sensing] for my otd price. [Washington]
Ideally I'd like to get my deal down to 24,500 ish range if possible. Does anyone know what a good deal would be or how I can negotiate. [First time buyer]
I paid 25500 before tax on mine...

OK, it's almost trigger pulling time.

Price shopping NH and MA dealers, thinking deals are to be had since the 2017 will come in a few months. I have multiple quotes for Touring sedan at $23,9XX for purchase, not a lease. So it appears I can get a touring OTD for about $24,2XX after dealer documentation fee. No sales tax in NH :)

I don't think the price will come down much. I believe the lowest price paid nationally is $23,7XX for the touring. My goal is to get them to throw in an accessory, maybe the ambient lighting.

I got my EX-T for $20,900 before tax, title, and license. Add that in plus the fees I couldn't avoid for widow etching and destination fees, etc and throw in the extended warranty and GAP insurance and the total financed was $27,000. Tax is a killer in Washington state at almost 10%.

Ok I need help between these two options;

Washington state btw
Car: Honda Civic
Color: Cosmic Blue
Trim: Ex-L w/o honda sensing [Market price $24,535 (price + destination)]

option 1:
$26,150 + lifetime warranty [most likely power train] + 2 years free maintenance

option 2:
$25, 240

I know option one is great but as I'm a college student and budgeting I'd like to go with the cheapest option but also best deal. Should I see if dealer 2 will add on stuff or should I see if dealer 1 will lower their prices? Any advice?
[I also will drive between 6k-12k miles]

It's worth noting that this is standard on all civics according to the honda site.
  • 3-Year/36,000-Mile New-Vehicle Limited Warranty.
  • 5-Year/60,000-Mile Powertrain Limited Warranty: Ordinary maintenance or adjustments, parts subject to normal wear and replacement, and certain items are excluded.
  • Accessory Limited Warranty: All Honda Genuine Accessories are covered for 3 years or 36,000 miles when installed at the time of new-vehicle purchase.
  • Replacement Parts Limited Warranty: Honda Genuine Parts are covered for 1 year. The warranty coverage for replacement parts purchased from and installed by a Honda dealer includes parts replacement and labor.
  • Remanufactured Parts Limited Warranty: Every Honda Genuine Remanufactured Part is backed nationwide for 3 years or 36,000 miles.
  • 5-Year/Unlimited-Miles Corrosion Limited Warranty.

Shopping for 2016 EX w/o sensing in Western PA and the best price received is $19,800 or $21,475 with all taxes and fees (no trade). Seeing somewhat lower prices in central/western Ohio. Trying to understand if 19.8k is is a good price. Additionally, why the google doc link earlier on this tread shows some prices materially lower in other states. Thank you

I just bought my first car, an EX-L in lunar silver metallic. First, check truecar.com to see what people are paying for the car you want in your area. Generally speaking, paying for MSRP OTD is a fair price. I bought my car in Orange County, so 8% sales tax.

Selling price 21,398.93
sales tax 1,718.31
doc fee 80.00
License 240.00
AVRS 29.00
CA tire fee 8.75

Have one another compete for your business. That's what I did to get a lower price.

An EX-L for $21,398 please fuck me in the asshole...
Yes sir, I had another dealer quote me for 21175, but I was already signing papers, and I didn't know how serious they were. I'm glad I did well on my first purchase :D.

I could have gotten an EXL for $20,700, but I went with the EX-T for $19200 plus TTL

Damn, that's very aggressive pricing. I tried to go that low, but dealers in SoCal are very hard to negotiate with (at least my experience).

Right, because your 2015 Civic and it's pricing is totally relevant now...
