Never named my hatchback, sometimes call it “Hatchy” tho, don’t ask me why.

The Si, I’ll call it “my little Spanish girl” because Si (pronounced see) is “yes” in Spanish… or I’ll call it “da see (Spanish pronunciation)”.

Took awhile to come up with a name that fits my car but I think I have settled with one. "Naos", pronounced: Nah-ohs. Its named after the blue supergiant star in the milkyway. The star was officially named Naos on Aug. 21, 2016, right around the time my car was created. The star visually is over 10,000 times brighter than the Sun, but its high temperature means that most of its radiation is in the ultraviolet and its bolometric luminosity is over 500,000 times that of the Sun. Not saying my honda is that hot and bright lol but has quite a nice toned blue to be easily viewed from the heavens. This is the star.

Nothing. I do not understand naming cars and random inanimate objects.

I named mine Iris, for several reasons:

1) It's a girl's name, and that tends to be an important facet for me ever since I first watched Gone In Sixty Seconds nearly two decades ago (granted, I was also only about twelve years old at the time so I wasn't yet driving, but I knew to keep that in mind all the same).

2) It's the name of a song by The Goo Goo Dolls, and is my favorite song of the nineties.

3) In Greek mythology, Iris is the speedy/swift messenger goddess. Seems to aptly fit the Si by nature.

4) I installed Touring OEM headlights on her, which for me is now the most beautiful part of the vehicle. I like to think of the headlights as the "eyes," which the irises are of course an optical component that "control light."

5) I have a Garmin GPS with voice command that is now one with the car, and I changed it so that I can wake it up by saying: "Hey Iris." IRIS is SIRI backwards, and everybody very much knows "Hey Siri" even if they don't own an iPhone, like myself. Kind of puts a nice little twist on it.

I named mine Slow so when I refer to my vehicle I say, "yeeeaaah she's slow" which doubles as both her name and the fact that she be really really slow some days. If I ever break the 500hp+ milestone I'll give her a proper name but for nowi t's Slow.

I like old fashion names, so I named her Adaline, “Ada” for short.
