Got a 2018 SI sedan for my first car at 16 (i'm 17 now). Very fortunate and loving it. Hoping to buy it when the lease is up.

Nice! My first car at 16 was a Civic too... but not nearly as nice as these newer Si's. You're lucky but if you take care of it you'll probably get a lot of enjoyment out of it!

I traded in my 07 Accord EXV6 for the 2020 Si sedan. Bought the Accord new in 07 and it was just time to get into something new.

Came from a 2017 Nissan Maxima, had a 2014 before that and drove Chevy before I switched to Nissan.

New here - haven't even received my new 2019 6-speed Hatchback. But I love these kinds of threads. I've loved all the cars I've owned, but some, obviously, have been more special than others.

1988 Toyota Corolla SR5 Wagon 5-Speed (red). First car, and I loved it. Still one of my favorites.
2008 Honda Civic LX coupe 6-speed (black). First new car.
2011 Honda CR-Z 6-speed (blue). Liked it in theory, but it never really worked as a sporty / efficient coupe I had hoped it would be.
2012 VW GTI 6-speed (grey). Fantastic car. Dug the plaid seats.
2012 Mazda Miata 6-speed (red). Definitely lived up to its reputation as a fun, engaging roadster with world class handling.
2013 VW TDI Auto (Blue-Grey). Yeah... that model TDI. Never went back to a (new) VW after that debacle.
1971 MGB 4-speed (red). First classic. And an amazing car. A ton of fun to fiddle with (to the extent of my abilities) and keep running.
2010 Volvo XC70 Auto (silver). First car my wife and I owned together. She loved it. Tons of power, and room. But $$$ to keep running.
2015 Mazda 3 6-speed (blue). Everything you hear about the handling of this car is true. The transmission was fantastic, too.
2018 Honda Fit CVT (white). The second car my wife and I share. I'm amazed at how fun it is to drive, even without a clutch pedal.
1987 VW Golf Cabriolet 5 speed (red). My second stint in 'classic-ish' car ownership. Perfectly reliable and tons of fun.
2011 Jeep Wrangler Sport 6-speed (black). My first SUV. It was fun - in its way. But it made me realize I'm not an SUV guy. Trading it in on the Civic.
2019 Honda Civic Hatchback Sport-Tour 6-speed (red). I already know I'm going to love it - can't wait for delivery.

Some thoughts on this?

1. I really like red cars (I imagine it's because it's one of the only non-grey-scale options somewhat available.
2. I've got the classic bug, if not the resources, time, and talent to keep one as a constant side project.
3. I'm not an SUV guy. I like small, light, nimble hatchbacks. I definitely understand why people like SUVs, though. Particularly Wranglers.
4. We're now a two Honda family - Fit and Civic hatch. Makes a lot of intuitive sense for us. Really glad I didn't have to settle for the white showroom Civic though - I don't want to look like I'm running a rental fleet here.
5. When my wife's directly involved in the purchase and sale of vehicles we seem to keep them longer. Particularly when they're only in her name like the Volvo and the Fit. I hope this red civic helps me buck that trend...
