Oh it definitely does. I personally wouldn’t mind a longer 6th gear for this exact reason. I rarely go above 70 now when on the expressway. ?
Between you, Kefi, FatherPain, Mr Tuck, I think you guys could design a 7th gear above Reverse (H-H).

The drive modes don’t change the gear ratios. Something isn’t right there.
To me it seemed like it changed but then again I may have let up on the accelerator, but it looked like it remained constant.
All interstate

Having it at cruise-control on long stretches will hold the speed well without any variations in RPMs. This may be a dumb question to ask but is the Type R equipped with adaptive cruise control? Just too lazy to look up the answer myself. I too was also getting around 30mpg during my drive out in the highway at 70mph with RPMs at 3K.

Mine is a 2019, cruise control memory standard. Basically doesn't keep a safe distance from the car in front of you but does return to set speed even on a up shift or down shift.

Finally found it...

Wasn't driving much with the pandemic/work from home. Even less with winter in full swing so I decided to hook up a battery tender. Only problem is like a jacka$$ I dropped a 10mm nut into the abyss from the battery hooking it up. Took me a couple of nights poking around with a magnet to finally find it. That was driving me...nuts

That's some nice fuel economy. Mine used to be around 28-30 regularly... But since COVID the majority of my drives have become short drives so fuel economy plummeted. Plus these temps I'm seeing are horrid for gas milage :p

Yes the cold has caused my mileage to drop. Warming her up in below freezing temps definitely drops the mpg's.
