What did you do to your Type R today?

Today we installed a K&N 17-21 HONDA CIVIC TYPE-R L4-2.0L F/I TURBO REPLACEMENT DROP IN AIR FILTER. We just acquired our CTR late Dec 2020. I was looking for a quick easy upgrade. This upgraded I notice the the increase airflow and enjoy BOV sound will driving.

It is neat such a simple change gives some good feedback sounds.

I had the K&N too but switched to the dry AFE version. Made me think without moist oil filter it could suck in more and they claim up to 1/4 more air in vs stock.

I couldn’t tell and diff in performance or sound but feel better (and poorer) for trying.

Good and simple choice to start out with without having to remove too many parts. I watched a video showing different gains between drop in filters and complete intake upgrade. The K&N filters gave some really modest gains and yea it does change the intake sound up a bit.

I think it may have been my top 5 mods when I too first got my 2020.

Do you mean black lugs? When I bought mine in 2019 it came with the black lugs. Wierd. Oh yeah and one of the 5 was a locking lug if I recall and the pouch the "key" sat in had the Honda logo.

Dealer installed and I'm sure you got charged for them too. Cause OEM FK8 are the chrome lugs. My 19 came off the truck with chrome lugs.

Well yes they were a dealer installed accessory. I'm just saying they came on my fk8.

Installed some Suma sidemarkers, wish I didn't buy these and got the JDM ones or even the Depo ones as these fit horribly. Both sides have gaps towards the front, damn.

Yeah man I was a beta tester for these before these released and I said the same thing about gaps. Ended up running them only for a couple weeks and they also leaked. I am currently running depo 911 style and seem to be a lot better quality.

I've had mine in since november but here is the info.

So both are supplied by Unique Style Racing and I have bought many parts for my other cars from them.
