The guys at R Comp are awesome. I went through RE71s on my 86 so quickly, and A052s or AR-1s are gonna wear about the same or worse. My V720s lasted 3 track days and over 6,000 miles at over half the price. Stuck between buying another set of V720s (in 275/35/18) or ponying up for the extra grip.

More stuff trickling in

Ever try Advan Apex V601 as a middle price & performance tire? How about any others in Advan lineup?

I just can’t bring myself to pay $300 for Michelins for occasional autocross use. Will prolly just finish off the OEM Conti6s first, that won’t take long.

It's certainly tough for occasional autocross use, and my solution for that would be to do more autocross HAHA. My top choices are A052, RE71r, V720, 595RS-Pro in the 200TW category or 100TW AR-1.

Did a little parking lot detail after work. The goofy-roofy Type R logo is visible from overhead.

Did inside at home, this the Before pic,
On the steering column (above gas pedal) is the Escort Remote Silence/Tag Button.

Motec installed, with Ethernet communication cable to laptop coiled.

The included Motec base map tune created several issues. The tuner, Salasko Racing worked with me Sunday morning to resolve most of them, which was very cool.

Still have a deceleration ping we were unable to resolve and won’t resume troubleshooting until sometime next week.

Will remove and switch back to OEM ECU for upcoming track outing @Streets of Willow

Thanks Taylor. Appreciate it good sir. Ben compared your tune to the Motec basemap, though your mods are significantly more advanced than mine  and made some tweaks and was able to resolve most of the issues.

Gotta say the Motec is impressive in that changes can be made instantaneously in real time, no reflash or restart needed.

Was very cool to drive around and have the tuner monitoring performance via my cel phone’s hot spot and making adjustments on the fly. My good buddy @boosted187sx suggested the using the hot spot and it worked like a champ.

Ben won’t be able to resume until sometime next week due to prior commitments, but that’s ok. I’m in no rush and we are moving in the right direction.

Debating whether or not to add a flex fuel sensor and possible port injection before the real Dyno tune.

I was looking forward to installing some fender vent add-on inserts over the weekend but so far it's been a failure.

The double-sided tape supplied by the manufacturer is just not strong enough to hold over the black textured plastic surface. Even with a 3M adhesive promoter, it did no good to help as what was suggested by the guys at Bayson R Motorsports. I'm beginning to feel that this purchase I made was a dud but maybe there are other ways to attach this on there. I did strike a home-run with Bayson R's window visors though- great buy and deal! The guys at Bayson R are really nice and easy to work with though. As-is, this and many of their items are non-returnable so I just may painfully eat this purchase.

Some of the issues I ran into with not only with the uncooperating texture but also with the way that the piece is slightly curved around the outer edge to the door. The shape causes it to bow away not allowing it to sit flush. I have some very strong industrial double-sided sticky tape that I know will work but it's just a little bit too thick and will cause the overlay to stick-out too much. The adhesive promoter did hold in some areas but I didn't want to take a chance with these turning into a flying projectile at highway speeds and losing these somewhere along the highway. Also, I didn't like how they didn't sit flush as this could cause water to be trapped in between this and the OEM piece underneath it.

Was wondering if anyone has any bright solutions to add to my project. I would greatly appreciate any feedback. Thanks guys!

This stuff is pretty strong and sticky, note the rating, pretty thin too. Around $8 at Wal-Mart.

Welcome! It’s a learning exchange program. There are so many people I admire and respect as they have deep skills.

I spend too much time trying to find ways to twist posts for a laugh, even at myself.

I used said tape to hold Highlander panels together after we got hit on interstate in NC. It held 500+ miles to FL and four more months until we used our own insurance after (ass clown) adjuster played around too long so we found a nice barrister to recover damages, medical (surgery), P&S, list wages. I was fine, they have more healing to do.

TMI. Do I sound bitter?

it’s good tape, Gorilla version nearly as good rated 38 lbs. Some of my interior trim needing thin non-marring has the GT. Mild heat is key to easy removal.

I think a lot of these tapes are also sensitive to chemicals that may be on the surface (Car wash stuff, that kind of thing) and surface temperature. If it's the least bit chilly out, a little heat to the surface helps as does an alcohol wipe.

I like the 3M tapes for exterior stuff.
