Attempted to carbon fiber wrap the hood. First time wrapping a car so it was an adventure. Overall went pretty, but I cut it too short on the sides so the white is showing next to the rubber guides :/

Ordered a new roll and going to try again this weekend.

Also, snapped a bolt right off putting trim pieces back onto the hatch. So now I have to extract the snapped bolt and get a new one and reinstall. Great!

I’m running Hondata now, but I’m not going to disable the CEL by default. My county is an ODBII emissions county and I want to check if it throws the code or not, because if it does I may have to buy their catted option.
Wish you good luck - plz keep us posted. Is

I swapped to my autocross wheels for an event on Sunday. While the OEM's were off, I gave them a thorough cleaning and coated them with Turtle's hybrid ceramic spray wax. The stuff has fantastic reviews, especially from people who are looking to restore water beading on professional ceramic coats. It was cheap too. The wheels feel great with it on there. I'll add a second coat before I re-mount them to the car.

Today I covered a cheap CF center console cover in Alcantara. Put a dense foam pad on it first as hard plastic and elbows don’t mix. First attempt, not pro for sure but not bad either. No threat to Suedit or Overland as functional Homer Simpson style ‘dOh-EM’ parts created. Easily removed to access muffler bearing grease fitting below center console.

Total spent $67

1 SQ YD Red Alcantara material $11

Loctite Spray Adhesive $10. (10-15 second working time, vs. 3M 15-20 mins)

CF Cover wSide Trim Rails (not used) $33

Sacrificial Thermapedic Elbow Pad (cut & sanded to fit lid) $13

Note: The Suedit Center Console Side Rails shown $275 shipped. They sell a Center Pad w/Armrest too, $275 shipped.

That means my good enough pad saved me about $200.

Even though I'm on at about 4,000 miles, I changed the transmission fluid today with ACDelco Synchromesh since I've heard so many great things about it. Seems smoother now, I dig it.

While taking the PRL high volume intake out, I noticed that it was missing all but one of the hex screws. Just one screw was keeping that big panel on... yikes! It was my fault though, as I never used loctite originally. Found some matching screws and loctite'd the hell out of 'em, now it's good to go.

A little Loctite goes a long ways. And make sure you get the right type, some Loctite has to be heated to have the screw removed, other can be removed with reasonable torque.

Since we’re talking Baskin-Robins Loctite, here’s a kit with five solid stick types of Loctite, looks foolproof vs spills, leaks, drips. I’ve never seen the must heat chastity version.

Assorted Solid Loctite

Was able to get one of these last few password:jdm coolant reservoir covers. Quality is like poor next to the GruppeM intake or compared to the Varis GT Wing. Hopefully some added clear coats + ceramic will make it look better in person. It looks decent in photos though.

lol yea. Loctite has a bunch of different types (I had to research this once for a manufacturing line.)

Here's the really quick break down;
Red - requires heat to remove
Blue - removed with hand tools
Green - heat and/or hand tools (depending upon thread size)
Purple - low strength for aluminum, brass, etc, removed with hand tools

reference: https://www.henkel-adhesives.com/us...ts/blog/difference-between-threadlockers.html

Most Loctite is good up to 300F and should be fine for auto-motive. I suggest Blue unless either you need something very high temperature or you plan for it to be permanent (it won't be, but...) If you really want to know the specs of the numerous Loctite product codes; https://henkeladhesivesna.com/henkeldocs/LT-6540_AN_RemovableReliable_SS_v11_Final_Links.pdf

For those that look at the spec sheet, you will see that even with Blue, you can bind the bolt with a higher torque spec than a small bolt head can handle. i.e. one Blue might be removed with a tool on a 10mm bolt, but require heat to remove from a 1.5mm screw or you will strip or destroy the head before the Loctitie fails.
