thanks. yeah center caps are expensive but i really like it better with it on. I'll just pop it off for track days if i go.
I totally agree, caps are NOT CHEAP but I'm 100% happy I got them! On my TE37SL's you also have to buy the center cap adapters......fun stuff!!

Gents,
Is lack of caps and adapters plus overcharging for them unique to certain (high end) brands or just 18” or both, mixed?

In wheel surfing for aftermarket 19” recently I didn’t consider $3k for a set of wheels or even $2k (+ tires) due to COVID impact on budget. Seems most middle to low price wheels come with caps and adapters, maybe it was just most of those I liked. I think they just charge so much for the most popular wheel caps because they can.

Crowded market but TSW includes them on all their Rotary Forged wheels, imagine all types. Some other popular brands include them too but not the hottest ones apparently.

Supply and demand for flexibility, seems like all higher price wheels should include them but racers like the open hub and on track you can’t use caps. I guess the intent is to the majority of more expensive wheels is to look track ready even if you never or only go every blue moon. To me when I first saw this at I was like, maybe people steal caps often or they don’t stay on well so they said the heck with it. Then I realized the track aspect.

I was perfectly happy with some blowout rotary forged wheels from TSW at $162 ea. ( CarID price matches themselves). Easy to enhance & customize their silver caps vs exact finish matched that blend in.

Is it more common as an option or a high profit excuse to withhold what most include in the name of race and street ready open hub? Still seems backwards to me, a cheap wheel might omit them

Installed OLM/Coplus/Miromoto headlights and the J’s Racing grill... still waiting for a red JDM Honda emblem and J’s Racing vented hood to finish it off..

Fitment for the grill is pretty bad, hoping the paint and body shop will be able to fix the imperfections when I take it in for paint and clear coat.

I purchased a set of FilterMag oil filter magnets.

Both magnet bars do not fit well, due to the narrow clearance between the oil pan and filter, however, one bar fit well at the top. If someone wanted to use both bars, the second bar will grip to the lower base of the filter but with not 100% clamping force.

Trying out the Broadway 400mm rear view mirror.. it’s huge...but no more blind spots at all for driver or passenger heh.

Previously tried the 300mm flat.

Thinking 360mm probably would be the sweet spot :)

Q1: how securely does it clamp in? would it fall off from quick turning?

Q2: would it block off a lot from the front view?

It has (2) spring clamps and some rubber grips on the opposite stationary clamps. But that is what holds it in place.

Dunno about the 400mm yet, but the 300mm made it through a track day with both driver and passenger side windows rolled all the way down, with some hard turns, acceleration, braking, high speed and wind with no issues.

Front view is obscured a little but not to the point it bothers me. Have gained so much rear, side and blind spot visibility, it’s a major improvement.

The downside of the 400mm is the drivers and passenger visors may lightly touch it when down. In addition to being wider it’s also taller than the 300mm.

Thinking 360mm would be perfect as it wouldn’t interfere with the visors and is wider than 300mm.

Convex or flat. Your choice ;)

High Gloss rattle can on the lower vents (no paint on the mesh like stock), and Matte Black Plasti Dip on the bash bar. I'm pleased with the result.
