I am still scratching my head as to why car manufacturers still continue to use prop rods on many of their vehicles including our beloved FK8s. Maybe we should start some petition to replace all prop rods with pneumatic rods OR this very creative carbon fiber wing (for weight reduction). 😂
It's kind of strange that a $40K car has one but I'm one of the weirdos who likes the CTR prop rod 😁

Then again, it's not my daily driver (in which case, it is a bit annoying) but any little extra old school manual drama this car can deliver just makes me smile when I decide to take it for a spin.

Big reason I HATE the electronic parking brake, fake engine noise (unplugged as soon as I got my exhaust), could do without the driver aids, etc.

The electronic parking brake just doesn’t belong in an iconic car like this. That’s probably one thing they didn’t listen to from enthusiasts when they clamored and asked for the return of a manual hand brake. Since the Type R is of its own they should have considered this but then again it would have to be reusable parts that would be the same across all Civic platforms (boo!!).

Rev match on/off should have had it’s own mechanical switch so it can be changed on the fly

Went on a run with a CivicXI forum member with his beautiful Boost Blue FL5 😃

His color almost looks a little different to the fk8 boost blue…but it’s a great looking car and color. Congrats to him!

S2000 CR was not part of our group but a welcome addition to the photo shoot lol….super clean, owner said he’s had it for about 10 years, so he’s done well lol

To each his own. I will take the auto hold brake over a handle any day.

Colorblind but nice ‘Smurfherd’ that looks gray to me.

Ok, not entirely colorblind, I see red just fine.🚗

I’m going to be PMing you very soon about how you juggled that. That’s insane to me you having a family and being able to complete the masters while working FT. Only taking one class a semester until I’m able to get reimbursed for two per semester.
Im married, so it was a team effort. Im not sure I could have done it without my wifes help with the kids. I dont wanna downplay a masters program, but it was a lot easier than undergrad, just involved a lot of discussions and papers.

Replaced our Yukon Denali with a new Passport yesterday, it will do the bulk of the winter driving for us. Now between my wife and I and our in-laws, we have a:

- Civic
- Passport
- Accord
- CR-V
- Ridgeline
- Element

Looks like one of us need an S2000 to round things out 😉

All I can think of is all the little rocks that get stuck in your brakes from your driveway.

The gravel is well packed where the cars drive on it, that typically isn't an issue. The sediment/gravel washout that happens up the road after heavy rains on the other hand can cause some squealing.
