What did you do to your Type R today?

If there's no appreciable difference in quality, I'm all about aftermarket. For example, my Tacoma's headlight failed. So, I bought a couple of AM pieces. After checking, the assemblies came complete. Just plug them in. About 1/2 the cost of Toyota parts. They were exactly the same, down to the off color plastic used in the turn signals.

That said, please read your insurance policy. If you are having your vehicle repaired, your policy should state what kind of replacement parts you're entitled to. Mine say I can opt for mfg or aftermarket parts.

After the deer incident, I had my R repaired with mfg parts.

Just read mine and I can opt for either OEM or aftermarket as well.

Just have to be careful some body shop they said they put OEM parts but they didn't, once it's painted it hard to see if it OEM or not

My USAA policy stated "OE parts only on cars up to 2 years old. Older than that must use aftermarket unless customer is willing to pay the difference".
Paraphrasing somewhat in the statement above.
As I said fortunately no aftermarket parts were available. And, the doors were unpainted-body shop said they're all that way.

Great convo guys, interesting that many of us have choice of either AM or OEM parts and that can result in various results based on price, availability & features.

USAA is great coverage and I’m eligible (not a Gronkowski). When I tried to switch from State Farm (who I’ve been with since 16 y/o, yes they had cars then… without cranks in front) USAA stopped writing homeowners in FL but continued to solicit me for complete coverage for decades.

I hope this results in speedy quality fixes. Most body shops won’t schedule repairs until after parts are received. We had a Highlander repair (got rear ended) take total of five months, then we sold it anyway for GX460 upgrade.

Took my youngest son with me to Big Willow.

Almost a year since I last went. Prepared myself by attending AROSC HPDE driving school the day before. Made a huge difference in my driving.

Max speed attained was 136 MPH.

Finished 7th out of 26 people using Speed District’s lap timers. The Type R really does punch above it’s weight class.

Hopefully will be able to get back out there sooner than later

looks like dirt to me. When i got my PPF done, i had to go back to do some minor trimming because the edge did not adhere to the curvature of the (some) panel edges. talking about 0.1mm trimmed off to not get more dirt accumulated in there.

when i had ppf done i had to take it back cause it wasnt adhering correctly to the lower area of the bumper and a lot of dirt got inside and the guy replaced that whole film.

This is where a touch of heat gun (keeping your hand on surface where aimed; too hot for you is to hot for PPF & paint) can save much return headache by helping tack edges completely.

After sitting in a box for 8 months, (?) I finally had my Blitz nurspec exhaust installed. This thing is straight up gorgeous with a nice deep rumble.

My newborn lemur ears are pretty sensitive to drone and bass so definitely didn't want to go loud plus this thing is JDM babyyyy.

I'll try and get some sound clips, but the sound reminds me of the 8th gen Greddy SP2 exhaust.

Beautiful exhaust but I'm more interested in the Baby Lemur! Any photos?

Yeah the main thing I keep thinking about is the wait time for the bumper. Smh. The lip is cracked too unfortunately. Hard to tell in the pics but def is cracked.

Took me 4 months to get my new bumper.
