What did you do to your Type R today?

Im doing seats here soon, any lights on dash? What rails and sliders are you using? Anything to know during install?

no lights, Bride type XL rails and brackets. you need resistors for the air bag and you need to remove and use the sensors on the passenger side seats.

Smoothed down all the rough edges from casting to make the block easier to wipe down without snagging my rags (or hands). Got the Saenz rods at a machine shop now and will hopefully be reassembling the long block this weekend. ?

In the pursuit of clutch happiness. So i read this thread on how to delete the cmc delay valve and so far so good on the work. It makes sense to delete both the sdv and cmcdv. As far as the ACT clutch goes...
Pros
Break in is done
No lock out so far
Daily is smooth shifting (but I get lazy sometimes so i nibble a tiny bit here and there)
Can see the mph go up faster on entering a new gear vs stock clutch (by 3-5 mph)
Cons
The new pedal adjustment made my engagement much tighter(on or off)
Definitely takes getting used to
Less range of pedal from stock (from on and off)
Takes more effort to press the pedal to the floor
Still have to wait to go into gear safely (possible cmcdv)

My take on it.
I love it( now that im used to it)
Definitely can tell it holds the torque 10x better than stock
If you like how the stock clutch gives you so much clutch pedal range then dont buy this but once your used to it you wont go back to stock i promise
I love the yank when the clutch throws you out from high rpm.( reminds me of the evo x at 400hp)
I dont feel you'll need a stronger clutch for full bolt on and tune

Buy a used one from ebay like i did for $50
Takes 20 minutes to do
If you wanna buy my old one HMU, ill be installing this tomorrow

Vinylfest ‘21 continues, almost show time (2x this weekend).

Replaced faded longways Type R roof decal with more subtle and matching Honda Racing. Look I went for is I was going so fast my windshield banner slid onto the roof!

Checked on the Fuel Pump Recall status. Honda is shipping parts. Dealer is ordering and when they know it’s coming, theyll call to schedule. It’s about a half day for the install.

Mine made its first cars and coffee appearance this morning.

I often forget how large these cars are. They drive small, but the CTR dwarfs the S2K and was actually much larger than that new Corolla hatch.

A buddy of mine was there with you- he snapped a pic of your car and asked me if I knew you. If you want a terrible phone picture of your cars backend- let me know. He sucks at picture taking. Lol

Ok now im happy, with the new cmcdv removed and new fluid it is perfect.
Clutch grabs super hard now and no delay on engagement. A must do to all type r owners. Remove both cmcdv and scdv for a firm clutch. Im selling my old cmc so you can do this and not be down while bypassing your stock one. These deletes are one of the best mods you can do to improve your driving experience and will make your clutch last longer.

Finally got the JE ultra pistons and Saenz s-series rods put in. After 3+ months of my brand new Type R sitting in my garage it's finally time to start putting things back together. This has definitely been an adventure.. I've never built an engine before. ?
