I did my first two mods today...well Friday July 3rd I got a ceramic coat applied that lasts a year+ a buddy of mine did it outside on the low low. We worked together on it. Today I did a K & N filter replacement and wheel locks for added security. More little mods to come !!!

Yeah it was weird as hell. The stud broke loose easily and was turned smoothly. Backed out several turns... maybe 1/4” worth... then blammo! Full stop. Thought for sure I’d get it so tried heating and cooling several times. Definitely was gonna snap if went any harder. No harm no foul until realizing the nut on the stud closest to turbo galled from all that force applied

This was how far the top stud closest to engine came out then got stuck.

Was thinking of trying the lower stud today for more punishment.... did you have trouble with that one also?

How bad was it to remove and reinstall the turbo? Any pitfalls or special to be aware of? Or was it machined in place?
Mine was the exact same way. Broke fine but about halfway it got super tight. Eventually got it off but putting it back on snapped it.

I know you will love them. :headbang:If you ever track or plan on some super aggressive driving it's easy enough to swap them in and out.
Looking a Akebono pads, 3 lines, OEM replacements, the lowest dust off white ceramic pads (Pro series that I think you guys ordered), and their Performance series. Thes are suitable for more intense competition us without fading like the middle line vid reviews report. Might be worth it to reduce dust though.

I was thinking the same thing.... Is it worth the hassle to decrease brake dust. Ordered my Akebono today thanks to this forum along with a nice brake service tool set just to spoil myself a little.

How is the sound difference with the K&N drop-in? Down the line I will probably throw in a PRL HVI but in the meantime I would like to hear a little more intake/turbo noise and I was thinking the K&N might be a good temporary solution. Thanks!

It's great you hear the woosh of the turbo more. The drop in gives you alittle bit of power too, def better than the restrictive stock air fliter.

It goes around this rubber hose and can only be installed with the down pipe removed.
