Installed my Morimoto Low Beam HID kit. They’re a world apart from the crappy stock halogens.

I also changed the turn signals to Lasfit leds... stupidly bought the switchbacks, really only needed the amber ones as they don’t stay on unless they are flashing. Super high quality regardless.

Last thing was swapping out the mats to the HFP red ones. Big upgrade in material and I really like the red!

Finally changed out stock amber side marker for clear. Added LED bulbs to be amber when on and not visible when off. More mods planned, but taking my time to enjoy the car and not go overkill early. (previously swapped out halogen fogs for amber LED bulbs.) Also changed out stock (ugly) amber turn signal bulb for Sirius LED. These things are BRIGHT! And no hyperrflash.

I'm thinking about getting some 255/40 R18 wheels for my civic. Will they fit without rub? I'm not sure.

Kingtut...

In my opinion an 8" wheel is a bit too narrow for a 255 width tire. You'd have an awful lot of sidewall flex. It would also be heavy. Beyond the meaty look you would have a poor performing setup. The widest width recommended for an 8" wheel is 245.

Why not just go 245/40 or go with the Sport hatch/Si 235/40 for your 18x8 +40's and call it a day? Even that 235 size is reasonably wide and the wheel will poke out about 3/4" more than stock which would look good. That would be a big step up from your hatchback's 17x7 215/50-17 stock setup.
